Back in the day, a lot of people critized Pat Buchannan, Ross Perot and others for being dead set against the big sell out. Now this is all but unstoppable.

Shhhhh. I have a ton of them left in my files. They are our oldest customer, although we don't get much work from them any more. That's OK because they don't pay their bills very promptly either. I can't afford to carry them for 190 days. They left all their drawings here because they didn't want to store them. They promised to supply a file cabinet for them (a large flat file) but they didn't come through on that either.
I have to be more careful reading headlines. It seemed to me that - why are they moving the base to a 115YO x-ray machine to China?
Focused like a laser beam on jobs (for China and/or labour unions).
It's far less subject to American-style accountability way over there.

Then Newt imploded giving us Hastert who teamed up with Frist and George W. Bush to double the national debt and accelerate the decline of US manufacturing.

We forget that free trade to the founders did not mean opening our markets wide to the world while the world played by other rules. In fact the founders used high tariffs both to fund the federal government and protect US industry during its infant years. To the founders free trade meant any America could trade with any country. If Britain and France were at war, America would be free to trade with both. It had nothing at all to do with tariffs. It is only the current generation of globalists who believe free trade means America ends tariffs and opens its market while its trading partners manipulate currencies, levy tariffs on US products and put in place all sorts of non-tariff barriers and regulations to keep US goods out.
God I am so sick of all this nonstop scummery. Did any of us ever imagine how horrible and relentless it would be, even knowing as much as we knew of the treasonous bum himself from the beginning?
No it’s all about margin. Xray is much more commoditized. The growth is all in rural china and India so the relocation results in lower shipping and labor allowing competition with local suppliers who have older political connections. Things have gone downhill across the board since immelt took over. End of welch stock was at about 45-50/share sitting at 15-16 now. I can’t understand why stock holders are putting up with the anti-capitalist boob.

Yes, it's about cheap labor which contributes more to "margin" than anything else when a firm can move to a cheap labor nation and cut their total labor cost to 10% and even 5%, or less, of what it was in the US.
And this move will be a continuation of the: take the US market for granted and seek growth in emerging markets strategy.
Its not Obama, its the Democrat party and it started with Clinton selling China our nuclear secrets and stripping Japan of our trade agreements. Obama is a clueless tool who does what Nancy tells him to.
