Maryland’s Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley has seldom had kind words for Republicans, but he offered praise Thursday for Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s immigration policies, praising him for standing up to “thinly-veiled racism” within the GOP ranks.
Mr. O’Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, praised the Republican presidential candidate for his defense of a Texas law that allows children of illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition rates. Mr. Perry signed the bill into law in 2001, and was booed by some attendees at Tuesday’s GOP debate after he reiterated his support for the idea.
Speaking with reporters Thursday morning at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, Mr. O'Malley expressed admiration for Mr. Perry’s stance while also taking a shot at other Republicans.

that guy got clobbered by petitioners on alien-tuition. These are the types of things the ruling-class likes to do. Perry needs to be hammered hard on this as it is an issue of NON-ALLEGIANCE to YOUR OWN PEOPLE!
Perry needs to slap down this “Sistah Souljah” asap.
It is not racism to expect the Federal government to protect our borders. Any immgiration policy or law is rendered meaningless if we cannot both keep illegals out and deport them after they get in.
If it’s political calculation, then that political calculation has led Perry to 3 governorships of Texas.
If it’s his true belief, that he should give incentives to Mexican kids in his state, then it has led to 3 governorships of Texas.
If it’s calculation, will it hold in enough states for him to win the nomination.
If it’s heart-felt belief, will he try to convert Republicans?
In reality, though, we aren’t going to round up children of Mexican illegals who grew up here and deport them. It’s never going to happen.
Given that fact what is the practical answer?
I think this is another effort by the left to try to make sure Willard Romney is our nominee.
Considering that O’Malley has completed Maryland’s transformation into a hard core democratic people’s socialist republic overrun with illegal aliens, this should raise all kinds of red flags.

MD just passed narrowly its own in-state tuition bill for illegals. Even is this bluest of blue states the outcry was so great that a petititon was circulated to put it on the ballot. It was successful putting the issue before the voters in 2012 and suspending the law. Perry and O’Malley are on the wrong side of the issue as far as the majority of Americans are concerned.
Yeah, sure. I’m upset over my good friend and neighbor losing his 2-year-old nephew and his mother to a drunken illegal who rendered them a bloody stain on the highway because I’M A RACIST. Oh, yeah, and because I don’t like the SOUND of the illegal’s last name.
Perry really does disgust me on this issue.
When did pointing out something that is true about a candidate become a conspiracy?
At the very least, make them pay out-of-state tuition. Better would be to make them pay a very large fee on top of their tuition; anyone in this country illegally should have to pay hugely for the privilege of attending a U.S. college.
I was listening to some White House advisors and they want Perry bad. I agree that the White House will have a breeze getting into the White House with Perry. Oh they will with Romney too but Perry will be a cinch. Can we please pick a real conservative before it is too late. I still find it hilarious that Perry giving illegal aliens bennies is the American Way. What world does this guy live in...........Do you FREEPERS feel the same way? Giving ILLEGAL ALIENS free bennies is the AMERICAN WAY??????????? Your support of this guy shows that you agree with that statement.

On topic, this is a huge stop sign in front of Perry AFAIC, but I don’t care what some Democrat thinks - it’s not as if this guy will ever vote for anyone but his pwechuss Obaaahma.
