Having communicated with the players, let me just say the press didn’t get everything right. He was consistent throughout.

First, Solyndra, now this!

This, tho, is more than the usual corruption we've come to expect from this administration.  This is a matter of national security.

According to john bolton, if other countries could see the spectrum interference thats caused and could get access to that technology theyd copy it and use it against us
Filters applied to protect such signals failed 31 out out 33 tests.

This is a very big deal.

GPS existed first, properly filtered or not. The moment the interference problem surfaced the lightspeed frequencies should have been denied. The FCC should be on top of this and not release frequencies that will interfere with previously existing technology to this potential. INstead Lightspeed arrogantly acts like it is the existing technologie’s responsibility to change and spend tons of money to do so - and the FCC sits on it’s thumb. Meanwhile the Obama adminstation touts the forced GPS modifications and money spend as a great example economic development and adding jobs. That’s apparently how those doorknobs think, (if you can even pretend there’s rational thought involved).

I don't disagree with you.

I held your position until the engineer explained to me that equipment should be designed to specifications.

A lot of existing GPS receivers are not.

If we can't convince people that the ATF giving guns to cartels under the direction of Ubama and his racist Attorney General isn't something worthy of federal prison, good luck getting this to stick.

Lightspeed bought a company that owned frequencies designated for satellite use then exploited a loophole to “augment” those low powered signals with high powered ground based transmitters. In other words the lightspeed system is a high powered ground based system using frequencies originally intended to be used by satellite systems like GPS. It seems it’s the the high power of the ground based transmitters next to GPS reciever frequencies set up for low power satellite signals that causes the problems. It’s like a top fuel V-8 running next to a weedeater, which will you hear?

Like I said, I don't disagree with you, it's just that the rule-of-law does not apply to Ubama, and never will.

Permission for lightspeed to use high powered ground based transmitters in what’s been a satillite frequency range might have come in the form of an FCC waiver, there seems to be politics involved and if someone would “follow the money” they would probably get to the root of it.

Like someone posted, even this administration’s corruption is incompetent.

I do disagree with the engineer's opinion that the problem is simply improperly filtered GPS receivers. The FCC is allowing Lightspeed to drop relatively high powered ground based transmitters into a frequency range with receivers that are designed for use with low strength satellite signals. They shouldn't change the rules in the middle of the game, and when they do no-one should blame subsequent problems on existing technology that's following the rules.
