Me too! I’m going to look up Darden’s corporate phone number and call on Monday and open up a can of whoop ass on them. I have always enjoyed going to Olive Garden and Red Lobster.... NO MORE!!! I will emphatically (maybe with a few curse words thrown in for good measure) tell Dardens’s and CEO Clarence Otis where to shove it!

They should be slashing their support of Planned Parenthood.

Olive Garden, Red Lobster to slash fat and salt; Michelle Obama declares healthy 'breakthrough'

From one year in the future:

"Olive Garden, Red Lobster to File for Bankruptcy"

Former CEO of Darden Restaurants, Otis said, "Well, I guess Michelle Obama didn't know anything more about running restaurants than her husband did about running a national economy. We've both ended up in the sewer. Michelle and Barry are the King Midas of Crap! Whatever they touch quickly turns to sh-t."

Asked if he had any message he wanted to convey to Michelle, he said, "Thanks for nothing, wide load. You should have kept your sinecure at the University of Chicago Hospitals and limited your damage to the people of Hyde Park."

to reduce fat...by 10% over the course of the next five years and 20% over the next decade.

Could have done that in one week by keeping Michelle's butt out of the restaurant.

The burning question for me is why did Wendy’s decide to stop salting their fries? And did Michelle have something to do with it?

I can't speak for Wendy's, but years ago, when I worked for Long John Silver's, we NEVER salted the fries. But that might have been due to the way the design of the food-prep line. The fry bin was right next to the fryers. During training, we were informed that we shouldn't salt the fries because the salt could get into the oil and it would cause the oil to break down.

If you call them on Monday, you can cite 3 reasons they should shove their crappy food where it don’t shine:
1. The Obamacare opt-out quid pro quo
2. Kow-towing to Mooooooooochelle’s “nudge” toward “healthy eating”
3. Their corporate donations to Planned Parenthood. Darden is one of PP’s largest corporate donors. Nice, huh?

Would you like a side is baby parts with that rubbery pasta?

They're what I'd call a semi-chain. Really a franchise.

It's higher-end than OG and RL. I'd consider it a reasonable place to eat out every 2 weeks or so, price-wise.

We've always preferred to eat out less often, but get better food.

Oh, yeah.

The son of my dad's old Army buddy (who lives near him) is the captain of a shrimp boat in Darien GA.

When we're down there, we eat FRESH seafood -- as in "we held the bucket under the sorter" fresh.

I had heard the Red Lobster biscuits are to die for.

They were. Chedder cheese and whatever else. Truly, a tasty delight. Now...well now they will probably eliminate them.

Like others on here...I will not be going back to either restaurant.

What’s the point?

Canoe sux. And it’s built on an old Civil War encampment that gives me the creeps every time I have to go in there for a corporate dinner.

Yup, I know exactly the kind of fresh you're talking about!

I live in a rural area without too main chains, which is fine by me. Chain "restaurant" around here consists of fast food.

I gave up on the Darden type chains years ago, with the exception of OL, but even that it has been at least 5, if not 8 years since I stepped foot in one.
