This has nothing to do with them getting a job in SC. To meet rate, Boeing needed to open up a 2nd line and chose SC. IAM’s argument is this 2nd line had to be kept in WA a Union “closed shop” state. But if they do go on a long strike to try to force the issue, all they are doing is influencing Boeing's where to build decisions in the future.

Oh; I was just asking. Didn’t know. DH worked for Boeing for 25+ years, but wasn’t union. (I’ll never “get” the union mentality.)
