Perry leads primarily because many traditional Republican voters haven’t taken a close look at Perry. I was excited about him until I did. I agree with all the points Morris makes. Rick Perry is hardly a conservative and would be a poor choice for the GOP as illegal immigration and corruption come off the board as issues.

That doesn’t matter either because their is no viable alternative in the race.

SO... you one day wake up and say... i’m not so sure about Perry anymore... let me take a second look at the others..

So... you look at:

Romney - liberal yankee RINO flip flopper used car dealer who makes Perry look like Reagan by comparison... nope

And then there’s... and then there’s ...

hm.... well there isn’t anyone one else! I guess I’ll keep supporting Perry!

Tell me the name of the candidate in this race that combines adequate levels of conservatism with an an obvious path to the nomination/general election victory and I’ll vote for him.
