You don’t speak for the Tea Party.

Anecdotal evidence suggests Perry is their choice. But you know what? It’s not just them. They take a lot of the headlines but the social right and just “conservatives” have melded around him quite a bit too. There is overlap between these groups but not completely.

Now as for Chris Matthews I refuse to watch him but will say I don’t love him. I just support him because I think he’s well...not as conservative as me but more so then Bush so it’ ll move us a few degrees to the right from where Bush left off even if not as far as I want to go. And if MMitt doesn’t succeed in destroying his mainstream appeal Perry can win whereas the other options cannot.

Soul Seeker - NO ONE speaks for the tea party. Hello.

I am sorry, just because you seem to think that Perry and Romney are ‘ok’, does NOT mean they are our best choices. They aren’t. Look have you gotten sick of the establishment deciding who the candidate is going to be? Weren;t you paying attention when the press picked Mccain for us during the Florida primaries in 2008? His campaign was dead, even McCain thought his campaign was dead!

No, just because Mitt can sucker up money - and we all know how that is done - Bundlers buying influence blah blah blah... thats what Mitt has been doing. Perry is a foil to Mitt, big deal. Perry was once a democrat, and I will give credit where credit is due, when he saw the sharp leftward bent of that party years ago he recognized it and bailed on the party - a good decision - but that doesn’t exactly wow me with his conservative street credibility - just his political instincts. I don’t trust his political instincts. I don’t trust mitt’s either - they are both RINO’s. They do not have my support.

Herman Cain is a person who has walked the talk all his life. Sarah Palin is someone who has walked the talk all her life. THAT is the sort of candidate I want in 2012. I don’t want a “safe” choice because that “safe” candidate is NOT going to make the tough decisions that are going to have to be made once jan 2012 comes along. No, it will be more fo-along to get-along. This country needs a whole lot more than that.

No, forget about the money etc, vote for the candidates who hae the stones to walk the talk, and neither Perry nor Romney have that in my opinion. Do I speak for the tea party? Of course not, but am I saying what a majority of them are thinking... I think so.
