George Soros: Good or Evil?
NewsMax.com ^ | September 15, 2011 | Christopher Ruddy

Posted on 09/18/2011 12:11:32 PM PDT by venizelos

I recently received a chain email with the subject line “George Soros — This Is an Evil Man.”

...

After observing Soros for some years now, I have concluded he’s neither evil nor completely liberal. ...

...

Newsmax was early in identifying Soros as a political force, featuring him on the cover of our May 2004 magazine with the headline “George Soros’ Coup.” Our cover story detailed Soros’ influence in Eastern Europe, supporting emerging democracies after the fall of the Iron Curtain through his Open Society Foundations.

On the whole our feature gave a negative view of his activities there. But my own views about Soros’ involvement were tempered after our magazine was published and I visited Eastern Europe in 2006.

...

During my interactions with many of those struggling for freedom... Soros and his Open Society were constantly mentioned by those I spoke with as the main driver for supporting democracy movements. It is no secret that Soros has backed any number of “good guys” in the region...

...

Why, if Soros has been promoting pro-American good guys in former [Soviet] satellite nations, is he viewed as an anti-American bad guy at home?

...

It’s a good question and I am not sure I have the answer.

A thoughtful review of Soros’ politics does not suggest he ascribes to either socialism or Marxism.

...

Reading some of Soros’ writings and speeches, it is clear he too believes in free markets and sensible, reasonable government regulations. He has argued that much of the current economic crisis could have been avoided had the housing market never overheated, if U.S. banking regulatory agencies had simply acted to cool the bubble early on, as they might have in past decades. I have argued the same thing.

...

You have been bamboozled. I don’t know what Ruddy’s agenda is, but Soros is evil. From his time as a concentration camp cop to his currect activities. He has collapsed banks like he did in England. His Center for American Progress and MoveOn.org are anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-military....This guy is pure evil. And he backs Obama like a ventriloquist. Do your homework after you put on your critical thinking cap? You do have one of those, right?

Couldn’t have said it better.

BTW, thank you for your service. I feel the same way, even though my service was shorter. 7 years active plus about one in the Guard. Though I don’t wear the uniform anymore, I still take the Oath seriously. Keep fighting, my friend!

I have no doubt that Soros has been helping our enemies. He’s a Communist. Bet his tentacles are helping Hugo Chavez, and Ahmadinejad.

Just because Ruddy says it....

Democracy in the wrong hands is a weapon of mass destruction.

Soros is evil. Period.

Distinctions matter, and as much as we oppose Soros, we ought to remember that he was of service in helping put Communism out for the count in most of Eastern Europe.

"Is Soros really a bad guy?"

George is simply THE PUPPET MASTER

A despicable man who sold out his countrymen for favor with the Nazi's, if that doesn't say something it should!

And replacing it with what? Lets not forget this is the same scumbag who wants to destroy America through things like the national popular vote and socialism.

He might have had some sort of Stockholm syndrome when he was a young Nazi helper, but whatever was going on in his head, it took.

I suspect that on some level he's carrying a bit of a grudge against the West, specifically against the US, for beating his Nazi friends in WWII and he has dedicated his life to evening the score.

On a spiritual level, I think he's something more along the lines of the yellow eyed demon on Supernatural.

Spooky dude's Evil.

I can’t believe Chris Ruddy has any doubts that Soros is evil. Look at all the organizations he funds that lie, defame and manipulate politics to advance far left ideas. The best one can say is the Soros is a leftist because leftists make better useful idiots for him to advance his corruption of the government to enrich himself.

I have very recently learned that he [Soros] is a Jew, and so I will never do so again and asking God and all those I may have influenced to forgive me and forget whatever I may have written or said.

What a bizarre thing to write. Which god are you asking for forgiveness?

Judas was a Jew (according to most research) and Jesus Himself said it “would have been better for him never to have been born.”

Plus Judas actually had the decency to try to return the 30 pieces of silver to take back his betrayal. And the character to go hang himself when the offer was refused.

Soros is proud of his betrayal of the very country which took him in and made him wealthy. He doesn't even have the character of a Judas.

This guy hasn’t caught on that the democracy of Georg Soros is the communist take and spiel about democracy for them. Soros should have been long ago tried for his despicable collaboration with the Nazis in being a ghoul to steal valuables from gas chamber victims. He has never denied this but just shrugged it off as a matter of the times.

A wide swath of Eastern Europe is free today and aligned with the United States — and George Soros and his foundation deserve some of the credit. Now that Soros has been given what praise is due, let us hammer him into the ground over our many other issues with him.

Benedict Arnold also rendered valuable service to the United States, up to a point. But we remember him mainly for the bad things he did, not so much for the good. Is it fair? Maybe not. But that's life. I think Soros finds himself in a similar position today, and for much the same reason.

I think you go too far in comparing Soros to Benedict Arnold, but I get your point.

I’ve never had such a response from you all for something I’ve posted so I’ll try and give reason, though it all stems from my faith:

When I was first converted and filled with the Spirit, for some reason my first thoughts were of the Jews that I knew since a child and whether or not they realized Jesus was their Messiah. This was given to me and my heart from above.

I started obtaining and listening to a fellow by the name of Art Katz, who’s now deceased, and went to Egypt and Israel my first time back in 1982 on one of his tours. I went back again a couple of years later under the auspices of a church and worked on a couple of Kibbutzim, while sharing whatever I could with whomever would listen how God loves them.

After that I went into the Army and into intel, learning Russian. When I got out, I sought and obtained work in our Embassy in the Soviet Union and the two years I was there I went to synagogues and Jewish centers offering whatever comfort and aid and support I was allowed to bring.

I have always been a supporter of Israel and always will be. It has never been easy, always hated, never trusted, often betrayed, many times in danger, but always remembering what Paul said in Romans, how salvation is from the Jews, and if their rejection of Christ meant salvation to the world, what will their acceptance mean, but life from the dead.

Always seeking God’s blessings in my life, as a deer pants for water in the desert, my family has suffered one mishap after another. Yesterday, when absolutely everything I set my hand to went sour from the moment I woke, to the time I was able to put my head down, I cried out to the Lord why I was not being blessed.

And then I was on FR and started thinking of the things I had written about Feinstine, and Schuemer, Emanuel, and Weiner, the many Jewish Leftists and Communists, and then, yes SOROS.

And I just decided that maybe, just maybe, I should keep my darned mouth shut, pray for them, love them, and turn my cheek.

I’m not saying I won’t stand against their ideologies, their ideas, their plans. But God help me, I’ll try and quit judging them and belittling them, and condemning them.

We are entering the time when the entire world is seeming to come against the Jews and Israel. Look around. I don’t want to be a part of it. Any part of it at all. In fact, I want to take the opposite stand.

So I hope I don’t sound too insane now. Or maybe I sound worse?

Christopher Ruddy does not possess moral discernment and Newsmax is not really a conservative publication.

Well I’m sorry for your tough day. And you have to do what God tells you to do. All I can say is I think you are mis-interpreting that, but it is not for me to say.

Keep in mind that Jesus’ main enemies while on earth were the Jewish religious leaders, and that He was betrayed by a Jew. HIs anger was often against the hypocrits and the proud among that group.
