Maybe it’s the pictures of Rick Perry and Mitt Romney interacting with voters. They’re really telling.

Or perhaps what is written might actually make someone on the fence want to vote for Gov. Perry, so they have to troll and ball up the thread.

Sad. Sad. No candidate to return their love.

So sad. So bad. Sniff....

Wow I saw an interview with a lady representing the TP and she said the TP is strictly focased on fiscal issues. NOT Social issues. So which is it social or fiscal?

It is too bad that so many Republican voters accept the RINO/liberal policies of Republican candidates; it’s what beget us the first 4 years of Obama and it’s what will possibly get us another 4.

One is smeared multiple times daily on Free Republic, and also by Michelle Bachmann.

One is not smeared daily on Free Republic, and will likely be the GOP nominee in large part because of the actions of Free Republic, Michelle Bachmann, and media analyst Sarah Palin, who has a rabid base on FR that will destroy any legitimate challenger to Palin.

FR is becoming a DUmp because of the non-stop negative posts of a handful of Palin supporters. In a thread showing the difference between Perry and Mitt Romney, this poster decided to make it a Palin v. Perry thread. If JimRob's goal is to allow Mitt Romney to win the GOP nomination, he's doing a great job of it by allowing this bullcrap these days. It will be FR's legacy.

I also have to fault Palin for continually teasing her supporters into thinking she'll run. It's selling books for her, and it's letting her collect speaking fees, but the damage done to conservatism is incalcable at this point. I've had doubts about her since the McLame/Fiorina endorsements in key races; her silence since her stupid charges against Perry's "crony capitalism" on FoxNews tells me she realizes she damaged herself if she was actually thinking of running. Of course, maybe the Palin Plan is to kill Perry's chances through unfounded smears, which she did on national TV, and then ride in an save the day against Romney. Problem is, Romney is going to clobber her in the primaries if that is the case, IMO.

An "interview with a lady"? Really?

Okay, here's another "interview with a lady"...

“You can’t even have an honest discussion about the economy without taking into consideration illegal immigration,” said Katrina Pierson, a member of the Dallas Tea Party’s steering committee. “Governor Perry has not met the standards, for me, to be the president of the United States if he can’t even address the real issues in Texas.”

Not at all ironic. Perry’s gun record is sort of ehhh, and Texas gun laws are more akin to those in Cali than they are to other southwest states. And nowhere near as good as those in AZ, AK, VA, or even VT. Don’t believe me? Go to Dallas, strap a six shooter on your hip, and go for a nice walk.

Anyone can join the NRA. It’s $35 and gets you a pretty magazine. And politicians such as Rick Perry and Diane Feinstein frequently own and carry guns. It’s the peasants that the politicians don’t want to have firearms.

And yet...they are still both just establishment good ole boy politicians.

Yup.

The only thing that has changed is that the electorate (those who wish to know) now has a better chance of figuring it out, largely because of sites like Free Republic.

Unfortunately, there is a cadre of cheerleaders here and elsewhere that simply praises the Republican-du-jour and then gets all disjointed when those of us who value freedom above all else point out problems early on and then either vote their conscience or don't vote at all when the moment of truth comes.

I reluctantly voted for McCain at the last possible minute in the last Presidential election. I did not like it one bit.

At the end of the day, I will more than likely vote for anybody but Obama in the next election, unless the only choice is Romney, in which case I will not vote at all

I could vote for anyone else in the Republican field right now, but I will not vote for Romney. I am not very fond of Perry either, but I MIGHT be able to vote for him if push comes to shove.
