You do understand that the goal is to garner enough votes to win. Elections are basically simple math. I scratch my head sometimes over the lack of strategic thinking on this site.
I’ve never met a “religious” Jew. I’ve met many Jews that have no religion. They vote Dim.
LOL.
How come they gave him a belt buckle for a girl - with the female triangle (pointing down) instead of a male one (pointing up)?
Perry made good on that promise in July, when a cohort of liberal activists boarded a Gaza-bound aid boat with the goal of breaching Israel's maritime blockade of the Gaza strip.<<< ..

".....Ainsman, a prominent Democratic lawyer and Pittsburgh Jewish community leader, was trying to explain that Obama had just been offering Israel a bit of tough love in his May 19 speech on the Arab Spring. His friends disagreed to say the least.
[snip]
When Obama was running, there was a lot of concern among the guys in my group at shul, who are all late-30s to mid-40s, who I hang out with and daven with and go to dinner with, about Obama, recalled Scott Matasar, a Cleveland lawyer whos active in Jewish organizations.
Matasar remembers his friends worries over whether Obama was going to be OK for Israel. But then Obama met with the communitys leaders during a swing through Cleveland in the primary, and the rabbi at the denominationally conservative synagogue Matasar attends a real ardent Zionist and Israel defender came back to synagogue convinced.
That put a lot of my concerns to rest for my friends who are very much Israel hawks but who, like me, arent one-issue voters.
Now Matasar says hes appalled by Obamas rookie mistakes and bumbling and the reported marginalization of a veteran peace negotiator, Dennis Ross, in favor of aides who back a tougher line on Netanyahu. Hes the most pro-Obama member of his social circle but is finding the president harder to defend.
Hed been very ham-handed in the way he presented [the 1967 border announcement] and the way he sprung this on Netanyahu, Matasar said.
A Philadelphia Democrat and pro-Israel activist, Joe Wolfson, recalled a similar progression.
What got me past Obama in the recent election was Dennis Ross I heard him speak in Philadelphia and I had many of my concerns allayed, Wolfson said. Now, I think Im like many pro-Israel Democrats now who are looking to see whether we can vote Republican............... -- Jewish Dems losing faith in Obama
I tend to bypass “Business Insider” articles. After reading just a few, their bent was entirely too clear. I actually like Trump, like his outspokenness, but hope to God he doesn’t run 3rd party. Hopefully he’s too smart for that and sticks with the decision last Spring that he won’t run.
“I’ve never met a “religious” Jew.”
Looks like a new doo-wop singing group.
You putting Santorum in the same league as Gov Palin is very telling.
” I bet all the other candidates are saying dang...wish I had thought of that.”
Herman Cain went to Israel last month, spoke at the Restoring Courage rally in Jerusalem and met with the deputy prime minister.
This is a big deal which is not often discussed. Orthodox Jews are just as conservative as southern Evangelicals. And while secular "Jews" are having abortions , 1 or 2 children, intermarrying or turning gay, Orthos are having 8 kids per family, on average. Demographics is destiny. 20 years from now the DNC will no longer be able to include Jews as one of their voting blocs.
Orthodox Jews have always been socially conservative, but only within the last 15 years or so have been voting Republican in high numbers. You are correct that Orthodox Jews will become a majority of Jews in America sometime this century.
Yeah. I know. Palin and Santorum are not in the same league. Santorum is actually running in the GOP Primary.

You are both **SO** right on this!
There was a day that most Southern evangelicals were Democrats because of residual anti-Yankee hatred dating back to the Civil War. There was a day that most conservative Roman Catholics were Democrats because of historic anti-immigrant and anti-Catholic attitudes inside the Republican Party, which blasted the Democrats as the party of “Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion.”
The issue of abortion convinced conservative Roman Catholics to give the Republican Party a chance, and was a major factor in convincing southern evangelicals to do the same.
The same should have happened years ago with Orthodox and Hasidic Jews. If it weren't for the fact that some of the key centers of our Jewish population are in heavily Democratic strongholds, it probably would have already happened — it took time for the “Yellow Dog Democrats” of the “Solid South” to decide to vote Republican, and we need to allow time with Jewish voters as well.
We have a real chance of seeing a massive and permanent switch in party affiliation of religiously observant Jewish voters, as well as a case-by-case decision by secular and less-observant Jews who are either Zionists or conservative in their views of international relations to vote Republican if they think the Democratic Party will try to “throw Israel under the bus.”
One of the really good things is that Jewish voters, even Jewish liberals, understand that support for Israel is a core value for many Republicans and is not just something Republicans are doing this election cycle to get Jewish votes. Republicans have been supporting Israel for decades, even when they knew it wouldn't do them any good whatsoever in votes, not because of cynical vote-counting strategies but rather because because of the firm belief, either for reasons of theology or conservative foreign policy, that supporting Israel is the right thing to do.
The prospect of having a strong Jewish wing of the Republican Party excites me. Let's not waste this opportunity.

Sean Hannity just announced that he’ll be doing an exclusive interview with Rick Perry on tomorrow’s (Wednesday) TV show at 8 and 11 pm CDT.
