...everyone should pay their fair share of taxes...

I can't even begin to tell you how PO'ed I get when I hear this litany over and over from both sides of the fence. Bull$$$$! When the top 10% of the wage earners foot almost 70% of the total tax receipts, the "fair share" crap goes out the window. That's why I say: Throw the IRS Code out the window and start over with a 17% flat tax. You could do away with 99% of the IRS and file your tax return on a postcard. The IRS Code would be one sentence...you don't need any more. Now, lobbying makes no sense on the tax side of the Tax-and-Spend politicians...half the problem solved. Now that's how you level the playing field and everyone pays their "fair share". You don't get fairness by giving the people who crafted the IRS Code in the first place a second chance to do it again. It's time for the people to say: Do it my way or your gone...and mean it!

I don’t mind the phrase “fair share”, but I think they are looking at the wrong people.

Those who are paying nothing are not paying their fair share. And giving money to a program that gives more back to you some day than you put in is not sharing in the “taxation.” It’s simply sharing in an income diversion program.

Fairness would be everyone paying exactly the same rate on CONSUMPTION....a sales tax.

BTTT!

When my wife was receiving unemployment checks, we had to claim that as "income" and pay taxes on it! Do welfare queens have to claim their checks as "income?" While in the Marine Corps, I had to claim my non-cash benefits: housing allowance, etc... to see if I qualified for Earned Income Credit! Do all these welfare queens have to claim their non-cash benefits: Section 8 housing allowance, reduced lunch savings, reduced utility savings, etc...?!?!?!?

Plain and simple - repeal the 16th Amendment and incorporate a national sales tax of 17% on everything but grocery staples (i.e., milk, meat, bread, rice and beans)! There are already national sales taxes on gas, cigarettes and alcohol (probably more items), so why not just get rid of income tax returns across the board?!?!

I really don't care where you got your cash: employment, found it, inheritance, etc...! I just want you to get TAXED on it! PERIOD!

THAT, is a "fair share" for everyone! Anything else is CLASS WARFARE!
