Romney Closes in on Perry

After his bludgeoning in the Monday, September 12 GOP Debate, Texas Governor Rick Perry has lost more than half his lead over Mitt Romney in the polls. Perry's position as front runner makes him vulnerable by ganging up by the other contenders and his missteps on Social Security, immigration and the Papalloma virus have made him even more so. After Thursday's FOX News presidential debate, he and Romney should be about even - with Romney on the way up and Perry on the way down.

I have a modest proposal to resolve the differences between these two, and it has no down side of any sort.

We shall hold an old fashioned duel to the death out in the prairie.
Flamethrowers at twenty paces. Each man shall have as second...all of his hard core supporters.

No apologies to Jonathan Swift, as he is dead.

I’m in Maine which (with the exception of two congressmen and two RINO senators) became a red state in 2008. We have a republican governor and the House and Senate republican controlled.

Closing the border now is too late to help Perry this cycle. It could help a lot for a 2016 run.

The Democrats are loving every second of this nasty exchange. They don't have to lift a finger because the Palin worshipers are doing most of their dirty work for them. Now the know exactly how to defeat our best candidate.

Id's downright shameful and a disgrace to the founders of the Conservative movement.

You think we will have a republic after another 4 years of zer0?

He’s not Bill Clinton. We won’t survive 4 more years of this marxist.

I don't thing so. The little toe sucker is mainly interested in selling books, collecting donations and garnering attention, in roughly that order.

If Rick Perry runs away with the nomination, all three Morris enterprises are adversely impacted. He needs a horse race to remain relevant.

That being said, Perry shot himself in the foot with his stubborn defense of illegal immigration incentives. And Romney appears to be the main beneficiary.

See:

Perry defends incentives for illegal immigrants in Texas.
Texas Tea Party to Rick Perry: 'We are Fed Up!"
Texas Tea Party activists to Perry: Hey, what about our borders?

Now, had the topic been ObamaCare/RomneyCare, you would have seen Perry pick up ground.

Well, we all know who is considered the "king maker".

If Romney becomes the nomination that will be held as a legacy.

We won’t have a republic if there is 4 more years of the marxist in chief’s policies. He has accomplished his agenda in nearly fundamentally transforming this country.

We won’t have a republic if we get a RINO either. Do some research on the North American Union and you will find that neither Republican nor Democrat is working to maintain a sovereign United States as we know it today. To give you a hint of what you will find is that the North American Union is a Union of Canada, The US, and Mexico as one unified “country” with a parliament. Why do you think neither party will secure the boarder. Perry has already said in a speech that he stands with the Mexican President on open boarders.

I’m going to vet all candidates until the primaries are over. The only person who is most in line with what I believe this country needs is Palin. Perry won’t get my vote in the primaries for the open boarders attitude and the cozy attitude he has with Muslims. I won’t even vote for Romney should he get the nomination.
