Today the Cleveland Plain Dealer announced the resignation of Connie Schultz, wife of Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH). Schultz had come under fire recently for attending a Tea Party rally near Cleveland at which her husbands likely opponent in 2012, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, was a featured speaker. Schultz was spotted videotaping Mandels speech, but she conspicuously neglected to mention in her article that Mandel was even at the rally. (Read the details in my previous diary).
Once news about Schultzs covert-op became known, the Pulitzer prize winning journalist and 18-year veteran of the Plain Dealer issued a breathless apology, claiming that she never thought for a minute she was doing anything wrong and just felt sick about it and had learned her lesson.
Of course, the real issue was whether or not she was engaging in campaign activities at the behest of or on the tab of the Plain Dealer, the largest newspaper in Ohio. If so, this would be this would be too obvious even for the mainstream media. They still like to maintain the appearance of impartiality.

Sorry Connie, no Macacagate for you.

IIRC, being a partisan hack is nothing new for her.
Now, the burning question is whether Josh Mandel is related in any way to Danny Green.
This movie is really, really good, and a surprise. It’s also based on Danny Green’s life—in, wait for it—Cleveland. “Kill the Irishman” http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1416801/
The mask comes off next year - Al-Jezeera will be more objective.

Cleveland Plain Dealer
The columnist, who is married to U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, writes in a note to colleagues that in recent weeks, it has become painfully clear that my independence, professionally and personally, is possible only if Im no longer writing for the newspaper that covers my husbands senate race on a daily basis, so its time for me to move on. She apologized earlier this month for crashing a Tea Party event and failing to mention that her husbands opponent was in attendance and that she had videotaped him. Schultz, who has been at the Plain Dealer for 18 years, writes in her farewell piece:
I leave The Plain Dealer with gratitude, and plenty to do. Im working on my next book, and will continue to write essays for Parade magazine. Im still a columnist with Creators Syndicate, and Ill continue to focus on issues of social and economic justice. Im weighing other options, and look forward to what comes next.
SOP for the ‘media’ , aka the Democrat party, propaganda division.
In 2011, among the National Journals annual rankings, Sherrod Brown tied with eight other members-including Bernie Sandersfor the title of the most liberal member of Congress.
In 2009, when the vote on President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package (the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) came down to just a few votes, Brown (an ardent advocate of the legislation) was attending services for his deceased mother. The White House provided a plane in order to fly him back to vote for the bill when it was determined that no commercial flight would make it on time. Although most senators voted shortly after 5:30 p.m., the 60th and final vote was not cast until 10:46 p.m. by Sen. Sherrod Brown.
Brown’s daughter Emily works for the Service Employees International Union, daughter Elizabeth was an editorial assistant at New York Magazine and is currently a communication staff person for the Ohio House Democratic Caucus
Brown’s sister-in-law Anne M. Swanson is a communications attorney in Washington D.C.

I hope Brown’s career is extinguished in 2012.

Good ole Connie! Always was and will be a ‘sincere’ weasel.
she never thought for a minute she was doing anything wrong and just felt sick about it and had learned her lesson
Never thought she was doing anything wrong. Pfft!
Yeah, getting caught is a great lesson.
SEIU! What is she, a hit-man? Er, woman.
I hope that this gets lots of publicity.
And, I hope her husband is defeated in 2012. Go Josh! He will get my vote that’s for sure.
enjoyed that flick.. as per the thread... do NOT particularly like Connie or her husband.
