I wish sixteen buck muffins were the worst of it. At least muffins were obtained. How about all the misadventures where tax monies were spent and it procured nothing at all?

I can’t believe this made it to the WAPO. A liberal bastion if ever there was one.

Inner Party members like Eric Holder don’t eat $2 muffins. It’s $10 each at least. $16 with nuts.
Now back to work, Prols.

It’s all in how it’s done:
Arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully charged icing Anointment utensil he poots forths a quarter-ounce green rosette (oh ah yuk Yuk... lets try that again...!) he poots forth a quarter-ounce green rosette near the summit of a dense but radiant muffin of his own design.
Now THAT’S worth $16!

Well, that is what stuff costs at places like that.
However, it is piss poor judgement and an irresponsible waste of taxpayer dollars.
They should be gathering at more modest locations.

It's almost always a trap to focus on silly matters like $16 muffins. Sure, that seems shocking. But the muffins were likely purchased and consumed at conferences DOJ was hosting in which the department was spending millions of dollars on a series of conferences nationwide in which local DOJ personnel were learning how to use government resources to sue states to guarantee illigal immigrant children access to schools, housing snd health care for migrant workers, etc. etc. etc. We shouldn't be focusing on the cost of the muffins or how much DOJ paid the consultants (dem donors no doubt) who led the presentations or other such other side issues. The real issue we should delve into with many of these types of boondoggles: What the hell is the DOJ doing holding conferences like these to start with?

Nothing new. I was a Fed employee at the time (about 1995) and really had trouble finding a room for $58 a night when I had to go to meetings. The wife wanted to spend a couple days at The Homestead” just to see what it was like ($500 a day). Imagine my surprise when we get there and the song in the lobby had info for the (Federal Judges meeting)! Like every Holiday Inn in western VA was booked?/sarc. Some animals are more equal than others...

Please, oh please give me the opportunity to be the person who approves spending for anything in government. I will be the farm that I could save enough money for all of us to take a very nice, long vacation like the current adminisration is enjoying.
Oh well, one can hope can’t they?
