I saw a Volkswagon beetle explode once. It popped out the windows, apparently a battery charger was left on the high setting and overcharged the battery thus filling up the interior with excess hydrogen gas, a mechanic started the car and a spark detonated it, the poor guy was working on the car at a shop years ago where I also worked, he was unhurt except for some ears ringing.
The battery is exposed and under the back seat on older Beetles.
A hop, skip, and a jump, 25 miles or so. Plus there is a HUGE mosque 30 or so miles to the south on the SW side of Toledo, in Perrysburg.
That said, I think the mobile meth lab is at least as likely as anything ROP related, probably much more so.
Muslims.

An hour to Islam Central. There is a huge mosque just south of Toledo as well -- there are at least three more that I know of. The unions are getting restless and terrorizing non-union construction-type employers, too.
There are corridors, of which Toledo is the hub. The main one being from Chicago to Toledo to Monroe to Detroit. Drugs, people, weapons...all sorts of crime. I'd have to be making FANTASTIC money to have to live in Monroe.
Hard to figure, but the only 2 things near this part of I-75 are the Fermi II plant and Lay-Z-Boy furniture headquarters from what I remember of the area.

In high School, one Halloween guy was drive bying us and chunking cherry bombs (yeah the real ones) at us out the passenger window, well one hit door, bounced in backseat, he bails out, runs along side bug, then “whump”, hops back in on the run and hauls butt,,,, LOL
Monroe is roughly 10 miles from where my oldest son and his family live. My newest grandson was born in Monroe a little more than two months ago.
I’ve pinged my son to the thread and told him that I needed a lot more info. That and some assurances that those MI rednecks up there had the guns and ammo to take care of the problem.
I’ll be surprised if this is Moslems. They’d never be caught blowing themselves up without outer victims.
Could be just some jackasses hauling firecrackers that they thought would be “fun” to light up.

Actually, there are several recorded instances where the bomb makers blew themselves (and others) up while making the bombs. Darwin candidates!
There’s always a residual background of mail bombs, car bombs, etc. that are simply specific murder attempts. Such incidents simply get more attention now.
Yeah I think this is something other than terrorism. Sounds more like a targeted hit this time.
Could be a mob thing. I used to know an elderly guy from Toledo who claimed to have been a mobster for years before doing some 20 years in prison. I know his granddaughter used to take him to Toledo once a month to pick up his “Social Security” which came in a brown paper sack.
A local attorney and his two sons were severely injured in a blast when a bomb denoted in their car as they were driving on E. Elm Ave. late Tuesday afternoon. Law enforcement officials and attorneys said the victim is Erik G. Chappell, whose law practice is based in Sylvania, Ohio, but who lives in the county. His two sons, believed to be aged 11 and 13, were seriously injured and all three are in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Maybe Dohrn and Ayers coming out of retirement with a bang.
