“Obama Is 20 Days Away from Beating Bush's Scandal-Free Record,” The Atlantic Wire contradicts, albeit admitting “the ATF blunder” was “a close call,” but not, apparently as close as the Solyndra affair, which they think merits using “the s-word.”

The subjective judgment on what constitutes a scandal takes its lead from Dartmouth professor Brendan Nyhan:
The criteria for what amounts to a scandal according to Nyhan is whether a news story on the front page of The Washington Post uses that word "scandal" in the reporter's own voice to describe the president or his administration. His study cites a other political scientists who have argued that what the Post publishes is a good measure of elite opinion, and thus, he would argue, can pinpoint the moment when a brewing controversy solidifies into a bona fide scandal. As Nyhan wrote in his study: "This restriction helps identify the most salient controversies at the point at which they become highly prominent and generate widespread coverage."
Ah, so what’s important is what the elites tell us is important, and that determines what they decide to parcel out to us. And if they decide it’s in their interests to ignore and suppress "widespread coverage," or to redirect it to advance their agenda…?

The silence is deafening
To repeat my recent rant:

I believe even that answer falls short of the whole truth, which is that this was conceived and planned FROM the WH, not merely something they approved when someone brought it to them for a heads-up and approval.
This is not merely a cover-up, with all its many sub-crimes, nor mere violations of Federal and international laws, nor simply a series of accessories to murders: this is treason, instigated at the highest level of our government, perpetrated by our most powerful law enforcement agencies, hushed up by a complicit media that even includes Drudge, and amazingly “ignored” by the Congress critters on BOTH sides of the aisle.
Treason.
This so-called “scandal” is clear evidence that this government, supported by the media, is mustering all its resources and powers to suppress We The People and the Inalienable Rights declared at our founding. It is tantamount to an act of war against this nation, her Constitution, and her people, perpetrated by “enemies, domestic . . . “, domestic terrorists who have infiltrated the highest levels of government and the media with the intent to impose tyranny on the nation.
Treason.
Obama may break the record for not having his scandals reported, not for being scandalk free.
His land deal with Rezco appeared even before he was elected. Scandal free my azz.
Bill Ayres and his lie that the were just neighbors. I could go on and on , but why waste the band width, we all know it, and liberals know it too, but choose to ignore it.

That’s true. If the networks are not willing to repeat the scandal night after night after night (panties on the head in Iraq, Foley, Watergate, Iran/Contra), scandals don’t hold in their effect on voting.
You can tell when the ruling class has decided that one of it’s own is no longer useful when they pick a scandal against one of their own and run with it. I think we’re close to that on Obama. That will not prove they are impartial. That will prove they have decided their interests are best served by running a different democrat for president.

I was going to say something but you have pretty much covered it.
In all fairness, we won't know unless/until the money is tracked...and the odds of that are far less than finding out what happened to 'walked' guns, which will surface at crime/murder scenes eventually.
The state-run-media are protecting their messiah!

Rule of thumb; if there’s a coverup, there’s probably a scandal.
That is a very good point, one I had never thought of but it makes total sense.
The way the Obama administration is stonewalling and dogging, they clearly know something dangerous to them happened.
Moreover, so far, Fast & Furious and Solyndra, etc. are ventures that have been so bungled, and their cover-ups so bungled, as to challenge one's imagination.
The Obama administration obviously clings to the "Chicago Way". But Chicago must be such an uncritical environment that it rewards even the sloppiest of crimes and scandals.
I.e., bad training for the national stage...
