Global warming and the twisting of our children's minds
The Daily Mail (U.K.) ^ | September 21, 2011 | Christopher Booker

The Times Atlas Of The World, regularly updated since the Victorian age, proudly presents itself as ‘the most authoritative atlas in the world’. But its latest hefty edition, published at the eye-watering price of £150, has become the focus of a bizarre climate change row.

The new atlas shows the ice in Greenland — the northern hemisphere’s largest ice cap — to be melting so fast that, since 1999, nearly a sixth of it has vanished. An area the size of Britain and Ireland combined, once covered in ice and snow, has now become ‘green and ice free’.

The publishers said the map revealed a whole new island off Greenland’s east coast, formerly viewed as part of the mainland — but which the vanishing ice has now shown to be quite separate. Local inhabitants have even celebrated the event by giving it an Inuit name meaning ‘Warming Island’.

Greenland

But no sooner was this shocking evidence of global warming reported than voices throughout the scientific community began to question the atlas’s claims.

For a start, there is nothing new about ‘Warming Island’ — it was clearly shown on maps with this name more than 50 years ago, long before the global warming scare began. And nor is there any evidence that Greenland had in recent years lost 15 per cent of its ice.

The U.S. climate-change sceptic science blog Watts Up With That pointed out that one reason why satellite images might have shown such a huge ice-loss was that a lot of Greenland’s coastal ice sheet has been blackened by soot and volcanic ash, so that it no longer shows up white on photographs from space.

Times Atlas 'wrong' on Greenland ice (global warming OOPS!)

From the article:

With active encouragement from the Government, whole generations of school-children have now had the apocalyptic threat of climate change pushed down their throats — not just in science classes, but in almost any subject you can think of (questions on the need to fight global warming have even cropped up in English GCSE papers).

In geography, the present curriculum no longer concentrates on countries, continents, rivers, mountains or cities. Instead, it insists that pupils should learn about global warming and climate change and the likely effects of rising sea levels.

I'm guessing that metal shop classes focus on 'teaching' how white racist Christian males have been raping Gaia for her vast ores and minerals while crushing the lives and cultures of brown-skinned people all over the world.   Time formerly spent on building garden hose racks and table lamps for Mom is now spent grinding up bits of metal "back to their original form" and burying it behind the school in elaborate ceremonies, to "return to mother earth what we have stolen"

When it comes to school, there’s no place like home.

Conservatives and Christians need to pull their children out of the Government School Collective and educate them at home while it’s still legal.

Why put your children into the Bus Ministry of the State Church of Humanism for 40 or more hours per week, trying to offset the damage done in the few hours left?

At best, it is inconsistent to so fundamentally disagree with their teachers and yet place these teachers in positions of authority over your children.

If any children come out of the School Collective with their faith and the values of their parents intact, it’s in spite of the the Collective, not because of it.

You will be happy to know that Metals classes are still teaching how to make useful things out of Metals. Son made some useful things last year including a hammer and I don’t know what else. He did more than the rest of his class. I don’t know what he’s making this year, but if all else fails, he has some useful skills between Metals and Auto Shop. And thus far, he has a lot of college credits for those classes. I think he will have a certification for his four years of Auto training/classes after next year. It’s possible he will have a cert. for what will then be three years of Metals. He could have taken Welding this year, but I thought he would be better off physically and mentally if he took a body conditioning class.

Sorry for rambling. I don’t hear any enviro-whacko stuff out of the teachers for skilled jobs. The viewpoints of the science classes vary widely.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've had some lefties send that to me, along with various BS about "climate change."

Or clandestinely producing shivs to relieve the 'rich' of their lunch money...
