A low in jobs, mobility, marriage for young adults
AP ^ | September 22, 2011 | HOPE YEN

Posted on 09/21/2011 11:22:23 PM PDT by george76

In record-setting numbers, young adults struggling to find work are shunning long-distance moves to live with Mom and Dad, delaying marriage and buying fewer homes, often raising kids out of wedlock. They suffer from the highest unemployment since World War II and risk living in poverty more than others — nearly 1 in 5.

...

And yet, inexplicably, nearly 50% of the country reports that they approve of the Kenyan’s job performance.

At the state level, New York had the highest share of young men living with their parents at 21 percent

It must be an age thing. My parents would have nudged me out the door with a cheery wave and a "write when you get work" good-bye.

Unfortunately the times are different.

For baby boomers, they could get a decent paying job right out of high school and rents weren’t that high.

Now, for even relatively moderate paying jobs, employers are demanding 4 years post-secondary and rents in most cities have sky-rocketed.

The fantastical irony here is that these kids are the exact reason Obama gor elected. Obama was the cool American Idol pick.

Where are those pictures posted here recently of those college kids smiling broadly with the Obama shirts and sign?

Funny isn’t it how many were completely and utterly duped and willingly seduced by Obama. It’s like they were under a spell and just couldn’t see reality, and Conservatives were the nuts/racists for opposing Obama, right? Pffft...

Maybe it’s the having kids out of wedlock that might be a huge part of the struggle, huh, ya think?

Hopefully they have had their eyes opened and will become Conservatives. Also, hopefully we will get a President this time that is a true Conservative and they will be able to see the difference. Many a young person became a Reagan Conservative after Jimmy Carter.

When I turned 20 I was working construction and took a small loan of 2,000 dollars just so I could move out of my parents home.

On the loan form it said two years or four years, so I checked two years thinking that meant I would start paying the loan back in two years.

What it really meant was that I would be paying the loan back for two years instead of four years so my monthly payments were high. LoL!

Since the young (menaing everyone under the age of 40) are so underemployed, they should spend their time reading every one of Thomas Sowell’s books and get a REAL education as to how the world works.

First lesson of life, stability in marriage (yes, that means no divorce) and having children and not contracepting your way through marriage) provides economic BENEFITS. The liberals have convinced everyone that selfishness and narcissism is the path to happiness and wealth creation. Just the opposite.

The impact of 50%+ divorce? Doubling up on living expenses for those w/o children as well as those with children.

The impact of contraception: no one’s around in the next generation to pay the taxes and help dear ole mom and pop out when they get sick and old. Another member of the fmaily is left with the tab: UNCLE SAM. Only problem is there’s no money left in the bank and uncle Sam has to resort to printing money to buy its own debt. How long will that Ponzi scheme work?

You forgot one very important thing. . .that comes before all of that. A man must find a woman who is NOT BRAINWASHED BY RADICAL FEMINISM otherwise all of which you stated becomes a moot point. And good luck with that. . . a reason why many Western men marry foreign women.

Today's modern "facebook" women don't cook, clean or care for children. They divorce their husbands on a whim.

Yes, most of all divorces filed are by the WOMAN because she knows the courts will award her EVERYTHING and then some; (child support, spousal support 50-100% of all assets) plus she'll be free to resume the exciting world of dating again (looking for her next victim) Oh and then she trash talks dad in front of the children, getting them to hate dear old dad and block visitation to "erase" dad out of the children's lives (except of course, his WALLET)

Look up "Golden Uterus Complex" in your favorite search engine!

Today's modern western women (most) are violent, militant, narcissist slobs who make their money the old fashioned way. . . by marrying and then shortly after divorcing, taking the shirt off the man's back. Even if they aren't married, the courts still allow the woman to rob the man.

And people wonder why Western men are being outbred by Mooslimbs under Sharia law. The system is broken and has to be changed from the bottom up especially in liberal "ble states" to encourage young white Western males to start marrying and having families again. Oh and yes, I'm a woman whose husband has gone through all of the above with his first wife.

This is the EXACT SAME PROBLEM found with young adults throughout Europe.

The rise of socialism brings the demise of opportunity for young people.

Socialism UNIVERSALLY does two very bad things. 1. People lose liberty. 2. People lose economic opportunity.

The government picks winners and losers and almost everybody becomes a loser.

You cannot make something of yourself because socialism prevents you from doing it and punishes your success, if by some miracle, you become financially successful.

Look at the communist president we have. He is hell-bent on punishing the successful. They already pay the lion share of taxes but it is not enough - NEVER ENOUGH.

America used to be a land of opportunity. No more.

Dunno.

My daughter started her "dream" job last year a few months before she was actually awarded her master's degree. Her starting salary was about the same as my wife's, with two master's degrees and almost 30 years of experience. No doubt there are a lot of kids living in their mom's basements, but what are their degrees in?

Or until January, 2013, depending.

Well said. Feminism has brought about deep failure and profound misery. It is a condition of a heart that has been terminally ruptured by lies from the pit of Hell. Woman do the things you note, but they are miserable, their lives are a mess, and they leave destruction in their wake.

I think we’re supposed to believe that they’re having children outside marriage because of economic forces beyond their control.
