Rep. Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee on Government Reform, held a telephone press conference yesterday morning with invited members of the blogging community who have been reporting on the “Project Gunwalker” scandal. The purpose of the group call, as stated in the invitation:
Update on Fast & Furious Investigation…Please join Chairman Issa to discuss the latest developments in the Justice Department's failed Operation Fast and Furious, a program which allowed guns to walk into the hands of drug cartels resulting in the death of border patrol agent Brian Terry and countless Mexican citizens.
Present among the online journalists participating in the conference call: Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars, and Gun Week Senior Editor/Seattle Gun Rights Examiner Dave Workman.
Following a brief introductory statement, Issa opened the line to questions from the new media reporters. This correspondent asked:

Perhaps Senator Issa is serious about getting to the bottom of this, I sincerely hope so.
IMO this whole thing was set up by Obama and Holder probably with advice by Valerie Jarrett (she seems to have her nose into everything Obama does)to steal our 2nd. Amendment rights.
Issa admits that neither he nor his committee has authority beyond issuing subpoenas. However, he says that a special prosecutor has broader authority to act, a development he supports.
"I would like to see that. We were very happy to see the U. S. attorney's office in Phoenix relieved of these prosecutions so that we can have somebody not tarnished by actually creating the problem they're charged with prosecuting," Issa explained.
"Yes, we would like to have a true special prosecutor on this, particularly when it's obvious that if [Attorney General] Eric Holder didn't know, it's obvious that he didn't want to know or because he wasn't doing his job. That creates a clear pattern of we'd like to know who did know and why they didn't brief the attorney general," Issa stated.

Issa answered “Yes” to both.
Great to this! A well-deserved acknowledgment from ISSA and a slap in the face to the BHO Administration’s MSM propaganda Obots.
