Continuing a fiat governance style that is right out of the Obama playbook, Democratic and Working Families Party Governor Dannel Malloy issued two executive orders yesterday that will force daycare providers and home healthcare workers in Connecticut to join unions. The orders, his ninth and tenth since taking office in January, will force the states 4,000 daycare providers to add over $1 million in dues to union coffers, and remove the right to secret ballot election for these workers by instituting a card check process.

“How can any executive order apply to persons who are not employees of the executive branch?
I don’t get it but I heard the commie governor of MN is considering doing something similar, but the signatures the union collected by subterfuge in MN are mostly wayyyyy too old. He might just conveniently ignore that and do the same as CT.”
Beyond lawlessness, you could have such a large mass of laws passed by the state that the executive order could simply be claiming to implement any part of the vast body of existing laws.
A body so vast as to authorize almost anything at the governors discretion.
the ultimate answer to unlawful authority is civil disobedience
If formerly independent daycare providers and babysitters want to resist being forced to underwrite unions, and have any means of going Galt, time to plan for it
We all know that babysitters and elder care workers must be represented against evil and exploitive parents and relatives of the elderly, who would see them toil in sweat shop conditions
Babysitters of thr world unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!!
oh, wait....
You are correct about Minnesota. Many of the signatures collected here are not only old but were collected with lies. No one knew that signing would be a request to unionize.
The “smart” people - the international socialists who want to “rule” are thinking they are above the rule of law now. These people are treasonous.
They have good reason to think that. They very rarely are prosecuted or legally challenged with they break the law. If they do get nailed in a court, there is no big penality and treason is never mentioned. We need law that defines treason for this generation’s “ruler” wannabes and we need to prosecute it.
So, what happens if they don't join? Do they go "private"?
