WAYNE: Jobs creators sent away for no reason (poll)
Colorado Springs Gazette ^ | September 24, 2011 | - Wayne Laugesen

Posted on 09/24/2011 5:16:42 PM PDT by moonshinner_09

Let’s do ourselves a big Depression-era favor. Let’s deport a taxpaying jobs creator just for fun. Let’s indulge anger and indignation, even if it eliminates jobs and throws a family into despair.

The Gazette carried a story this month about Jeanette Vizguerra, 39, who faces deportation after living in Colorado for 14 years. Vizguerra owns a cleaning company. She provides more sustainable jobs and prosperity than Solyndra, the defunct “green jobs” company that received a $535 million loan guarantee from President Barack Obama — a man who has deported people like Vizguerra in droves.

Vizguerra and her employees pay taxes. Vizguerra lives as an “illegal” because our country’s immigration laws counter the interests of our economy and our government’s revenue demands. Our immigration policies are like the old 55 mile-an-hour speed limit. Driving 55 slowed our ability to transport goods. It kept people on the road too long, reducing their production. Truck drivers earned less if they obeyed the law. The speed limit clearly countered our economic interests. As such, Americans flagrantly violated it. Our culture celebrated the mass disobedience in movies and songs — such as “Smokey and the Bandit” (movie) and “Convoy” (movie and song) — that gave our federal law the collective finger. Millions bought CB radios for the sole purpose of sharing cop sightings.

Get this .” We stand to destroy a small employer that generates taxes above this you will see She was arrested for lacking insurance, a license and for driving on expired plates. Then he blames us we may deprive four children of their mother or rip them from the only home and country they know.

Tell her not to let the immigration gate hit her in the ass on the way back to wherever she comes from. Start a business there and improve IT. Or get in line and come back here legally.

This illegal is one we want. She pays taxes. She provides wealth to others. Let’s get real and keep her.

But deport Obama.

NOW!

Well that's one way of cutting down on those overhead costs. Personally I doubt she was quite the taxpayer they portray her to be.

The article says nothing about who works for this woman, but I would guess that they are probably illegals, too. Otherwise this angry reporter would probably say more about who they are.

I fail to see how giving jobs to illegals helps our own citizens find work.

This woman is a lawbreaker. The execs of Solyndra are law breakers. Most of the administration are lawbreakers.

What do they have in common?

Put ‘em all where they belong and let the law abiding citizens prosper.

I her vehicle runs on gasoline, she pays taxes. She was only here for 14 years, so she probably did not realize she needed insurance, a license and current plates. But she’s just like you and me so that proves she’s a great American.

What you never hear about are the LEGAL immigrants that are here on a short term visas and are required to go back to their country because their time has expired. My wife has worked with several of these people and it's heartbreaking to see people following the law and returning against their will while many remain here illegally.

Here's the problem: these were AMERICANS who gave the collective finger the laws we considered unjust or shortsighted. Again, it was AMERICANS.

As a citizen, I consider it my God-given right to protest in any way that I deem civil and effective in order to have laws that are shortsighted and unjust countermanded.

ILLEGAL ALIENS in this country have no such right whatsoever. The premise of this article is false and flawed from the very get-go.

we are either a nation laws, or we are not. It is as simple as that. One of the problems conservatives have with liberal arguments is that we often do not point out the fatal flaws that they build their foundations on. Since we don't do that, they build giant edifices and castles on that flawed foundation, and as we've seen, they can never be torn down.

This argument in this column is dead from the get go, and I find it offensive.

By the way, please don’t take this personally. My objection is not to you per se, but to the argument. I suggest that you look at this with fresh eyes.

I must admit, I am with you on this aspect, but it is because those people that you refer to are here legally. They followed the rules, and it is true that it is people like THEM that we want in this country.

It is slander against conservatives by liberals that conservatives are against immigrants and immigration. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most conservatives I know understand that our country was made from immigrant stock for the most part, and nearly all of us have immigrant ancestors.

It breaks my heart too, that people who fall the rules, come to this country and work hard, are forced to follow the rules and leave, while scofflaws are allowed to stay. That does make me madder than hell.

To be “Fair” and taken seriously the law has to be enforced in an evenhanded manner.

Illegal IS illegal, deport them ALL, regardless of success/failure, taxpaying/non, how long they have been here, their “Color”, or where they came from.

This is the only way to ensure equal justice and avoid any hint of “Racism”.

Begin to seriously enforce the law and the problem will diminish, many illegals will either get their papers in order or leave.
Fewer invaders will come to replace them, our economy will begin to recover from the drain on our social safety net.
Workplace safety will improve, our prison population will shrink, more economic benefit.

We might even get to print product labels and ballots in a single language again!

Allow her to sell the business to somebody else. Then send her back to Mexico.

That’s part of the problem with letting illegals stay. Once they’ve proven they have no respect for our laws, and violated our law the instant they crossed that border illegally, they should not be assumed they will be a law abiding citizen after that.

Contrast it with someone who follows the rules and gets permission to come here. THAT person, you can much more safely assume will abide by our laws.

You are too forgiving.

Since she’s an illegal “her” business is an illegal enterprise, her profits were at the expense of legitimate American citizens.
Seize all the assets to pay for more ICE enforcement.
Send her back with nothing more than a prison issue paper dress.

Once she’s gone other similar but LEGAL business will be able to expand, or an American can open the same sort of business, hiring American workers.

It took more than 12 years for my great grandfather to become a full citizen of the USA. 4 of those years were spent in Canada after swearing to his intent to immigrate.

Might as well get a chance to pass its clientele on to legitimate Americans. It’s worth it, I think, even if it means she gets more pesos back in Mexico. Maybe put it in an escrow that she does not get unless she stays out of the USA for five years.
