Woman jailed after throwing a duck in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ - Authorities were called to the 700 block of 41st Avenue Saturday afternoon for reports of an intoxicated woman abusing a duck.

According to a Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call that a woman was drunk and was refusing to leave a business just after 4 p.m. The caller also said the woman was throwing a duck to the ground and apparently also trying to strangle it with some sort of leash.

When officers arrived at the scene, deputies found an intoxicated woman throwing the duck around. It was not immediately known whether the duck was wild or domesticated, or if it was the woman's pet.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to County Jail on charges of public intoxication while deputies tried to catch the duck.

Deputies said Saturday that the animal appeared to be uninjured, but they planned to take it to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter for evaluation.

And you thought you were having problems with crime in your city. I'll tell what this will lead to. The throwing of geese! Where will it end?

Duke abuse is so wrong. However, men can still choke their chicken.

Many years ago I was told a story about a guy in Douglas, AZ who had a pet duck. He would take it with him when he went to the bars to drink and play dominos. The barkeeps tolerated it because the owner was a good customer and people would come to see the duck who was very well behaved ( trained ).

What do think Sherlock? Good police work.

“... a story about a guy who had a pet duck...”

A drunk walks into a bar with a duck on his head. The bartender asks, “Uh, can I help you?” The duck responds, “Yeah, you can get this drunk guy off my butt”. (brought to you by my five year old who thinks this is the funniest joke ever(?!)

A duck came into a bar and ordered a drink. The bartender asked if the duck will pay for it with cash or a credit card. The duck said just put it on my bill.

Next to the one about the drunk at a cocktail party telling everyone about alligator eggs it is. But you have to be at least ten to hear that one. ;^)

A duck waddles into a bar and hops on a stool. The bartender snarls, “What’ll you have?”

The duck says, “Got any grapes?”

The bartender spits and says “We don’t have grapes here, we serve drinks, now get out!”

The duck hops off the stool and waddles out.

The next day, the same duck waddles into the same bar, hops on a stool, looks the bartender in the eye and asks, “Got any grapes?”

The bartender, irritated, says, “I told you yesterday we don’t serve grapes here, we serve drinks, now GET OUT!”

The duck hops off the stool and waddles out.

The next day, the same duck waddles into the same bar and hops on a stool, looks at the bartender, and asks, “Got any grapes?”

The bartender, infuriated, pounds his fist on the bar and yells at the duck, “I told you two times we don’t serve grapes here, we serve drinks! If you ask me that ONE
MORE TIME I’m going to nail your beak to the bar! NOW GET OUT!”

With that, the duck shrugged, hopped off the stool and waddled out.

The next day, the same duck waddled into the same bar, hopped on a stool, looked the bartender in the eye and asked, “Got any nails?”

The bartender, puzzled, said no.

The duck then looked him square in the eye and said, “Got any grapes?”
