News that a lawmaker was the target of an alleged kidnapping and murder-for-hire plot sent shockwaves on Friday through Lansing and the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.
Liberal group Progress Michigan makes fun of lawmaker kidnapping plot, takes down post after Democrat Barb Byrum named target
MIRS reported that the Michigan State Police had uncovered that a prison inmate was willing to pay up to $500,000 to abduct a lawmaker. But the MSP didn't release the lawmaker's name.
But the liberal group Progress Michigan was in a lighter mood, promptly posting on its Facebook page, as reported by MIRS:
"BREAKING! An inmate in the state prison system was plotting to kidnap a member of the Legislature and hold the lawmaker for ransom in an effort to secure his release and cash. Question: Would anyone actually pay a ransom?"
Later that night, MIRS reported that Rep. Barb Byrum (D-Onondaga) was the target of the plot.
Not surprisingly, Progress Michigan has since taken the snarky post down. Guess it's not so funny when it's a Democrat, eh?

Actually I’m surprised this didn’t make bigger news.
Apparently the democrats didn’t think they could pin it on a deranged tea partier.
They took it down because the snarky remark might actually be right in this case. Interesting that the target wasn’t a Republican.
Really odd that Susan Dumbass would condemn such a thing. I guarantee she wouldn’t have condemned it if Tim Walberg had been the target.

Once they found out that the threat came from a prison inmate, the chances of a Democrat being the mastermind shot through the roof.
The idiot inmate was in prison for solicitation of murder.
Key word here is 'apprehensions'.
