Rubio is not bad, neither is Perry. Perry would be able to explain it better if he ever had the time or got a chance, but fighting off attacks from every side and only getting a minute to answer is pretty hard. In addition, Perry was following the rules while Romney and some of the others kept talking long after the bell rang. Perry just has to learn how the real game works.

I cut him a lot of slack because he's the only one out there with a day job (and to top it off the fires in Texas are a huge burden). He's also the only one that hasn't been campaigning for months so, I'll give him a break and wait and see. But talking to the people of Texas I know, they seem to love him and they sure re-elected him enough to prove that.

” You see, both of them assumed that most republicans had enough brains to figure that out on their own, but they didn’t know you guys yet.”

Perry figured we were too stupid to figure out who and what he is.

*** Perry figured we were too stupid to figure out who and what he is. ***

I've read and reread that 'they didn’t know you guys yet' line over and over and cannot figure out who, 'you guys' are? (and I've read the previous comments pertaining to that.)

That being said, if it is as you posted, i.e.: 'Perry', and he took 'us' as stupid, uninformed, knuckle dragging Neanderthals. Then he's dumber than a box of rocks and has no business being anywhere near the White House. Let alone in the Oval Office with the 'button' for the nuclear football.

That stupidity of Perry's would be further illustrated by his disastrous choice of advisors -- who apparently also assume that it's We The People who are the stupid ones. And if that's the case then that's the 3rd time in his very short time on the national stage where he's insulted the very people he needs to vote for him.

Now I don't know how being talked down to and repeatedly insulted flies in Texas, but in most places in the USA that's called: 'Strike Three, YOU'RE OUT!'

Perry figures, that, unlike Texans, the rest of us are too stupid to figure out who and what he is.......that's the 3rd time Perry's insulted the very people he needs to vote for him. Now, I don't know how being repeatedly insulted flies in Texas, but in most of the USA that's called: 'Strike Three, YOU'RE OUT!'

Nice analogy....could be hard-headed Perry needs a baseball bat to get the message?

Nope, he’s very much into border control. Watch the old interviews (long before he was running for president). Watch the old shows that Hannity did with him back when we were trying to get Bush to do something about it and McCain was stabbing us in the back.

A bat? Well... that may infer violence and we don't want to insinuate that violence is ever proper, necessary, or required.

But, if Perry is just a tad hard-headed, one of THESE may do the trick....

Then again Perry could just be - as we used to say in the olden days - 'DENSE'.
And if that's the case, he's 'stick-a-fork-in-him' done.

Or maybe if 'mommy' let him have his spurs back would do it. .
(Yeah, that's bad. But I couldn't help it. He brought her into the race)

I don’t think any of us want Romney to be the nominee. What if nobody except Perry can beat Romney (money, organization, etc.)? We don’t know if that is true, but what if it becomes true later in the game? Romney does not to seem any better on immigration, and although he vetoed a Mass. dream act, I think Romney is likely worse overall. He is also a global warming believer.

stephenjohn, you and I fought on the same side for JD and I’d appreciate it if you would not call in your crew every time you post to me. Are you afraid to carry on a decent conversation with me on your own?

So if Cain runs out of money and drops out, would you vote for Romney in the primary?

Nope wouldn't vote for Romney if you paid me. I'll vote Perry based on the speeches I've seen recently. He seems to have the best plan for bringing about the conditions for the private sector to create jobs. He's a strong social conservative and he's good on the border (despite all the hysterics around here pumped up by Romney)

Stephenjohn remembers what I went through when we had to vote McCain. I seriously don't think I could have done it without Palin and I won't do that every again. I literally (and this is no joke) left the polling place and threw up.

Yikes.
That's like having to choose between Death or Ugga Bugga.

“But we’ve got to get the word out. We should be hitting websites other than FR. Commenting on YouTube videos. Plastering this guy over our FaceBook pages. At least get peole interested enough to take a look under the hood.”

I’ve thought this myself. I’m already posting about Cain on my Facebook page every time I turn around. It has also occurred to me that it might be useful for Cain fans to have a special “confab” thread here on FR — a place where we can compare notes on how to get the word out about this great guy. Is that kind of thread frowned on here on FR, or is it okay? Anyone know? Anyone interested in that idea? Freepmail me if you’re interested in getting together on a thread and actively conferring about how to help Cain.
