There is a “Gay Church” here in Dallas...Cathedral of Hope.
A “friend” posts their sermons on Facebook every week.
They are NOT a church, they are a gay advocacy group, a gay “community center” where they hear why they should feel good about being gay, from people who wear ministerial garb.
Somewhere an oxy is missing its moron.
"Ferndale mayor, Dave Coulter, described the minister as a respected member of the gay community."
And then in the next line...
"He told clickondetroit.com: 'This is not the Rev Bidwell that I or most of us know."
Really? the man is an openly practicing homosexual and Mayor Coulter is surprised he's having gay orgies????
Eww - the rest of the story is even worse. Why do we have to get our news from the Daily Mail? (rhetorical)

Metropolitan Community Church Rev. Mark Bidwell agreed. “While I don’t agree with what that church teaches or preaches, they are still a church and I have to have a respect for that,” he said of the protest. “What I’d rather see happen is to be able to go and talk to the pastors of that church, talk to the congregation in a peaceful way and let them know that all we’re seeking are the basic rights we should be entitled to.”
Rev. Bidwell pointed out that though their actions remained mostly non-violent, they caused chaos that could have led to injury. “Some of the things they have done, like pulling the fire alarm - people could have been hurt,” he chastised. “I think the fact that they could have stood there inside the church - maybe in silence - could have meant as much than some of the actions that they took.”
Bash Back! has been known to speak out against peaceful gay activists, claiming that their actions are conforming to a hetero-normative society.
To Rev. Bidwell and others, the actions of Bash Back! are harmful to the LGBT community, fueling the fears that many anti-gay believers already have about gays and lesbians. “I believe in the peaceful protest,” he said. “I believe in what Martin Luther King and Ghandi and Jesus taught us that to use violence any time, I think, is wrong. To destroy property any time is wrong. The idea that this reflects on our community can be harmful for us because all that does is it makes people more afraid.”

PONTIAC - He thought he was going to learn to be a better chaplain; instead, he was confronted with the bitter truth of intolerance. On the recommendation of a friend, the Rev. Mark Bidwell, pastor of Metropolitan Community Church of Detroit, signed up for a six-day, 47-hour fully accredited chaplaincy certification training given by the International Fellowship of Chaplains. Bidwell made it no further than day two, however, and left when the “spiritual violence” he encountered became overwhelming.
Toward the end of the first day, the conversation turned to marriage.
“We talked about divorce and that one of the causes of divorce was homosexuality,” recalled Bidwell. “I don’t have a problem with that. I was actually married and my wife filed for divorce because I was gay.”
