Fmr. Clinton Adviser: 'Very Possible' Obama Will Bow Out of Presidential Race - For Now
CNS News ^ | Sept., 29, 2011 | Grant Dahl

Posted on 09/29/2011 3:46:53 PM PDT by Rudder

In an interview with conservative radio icon Sean Hannity, former President Clinton adviser and campaign manager Dick Morris stated that, after speaking with a Democratic strategist, he thinks it is “very possible” that President Obama might acquiesce to requests from the Democratic leadership in Congress and bow out of the 2012 race, leaving the door open for him to return sometime in the future.

“I asked a top Democratic strategist the other day and he thought that it was possible that, in January, Harry Reid comes to Obama and says, ‘Look you cost us control of the House last year, you’re going to cost us control of the Senate this year. For the good of the party you have to step aside’” said Morris.

“And, then, (Obama) pulls a Lyndon Johnson, he says ‘I’m fighting to solve the recession, and problem is because of partisanship and my re-election people reject everything I say because of partisanship, so I’m going to not run for president and focus my full time attention on solving this recession’ and then go out popular,” Morris added.

He’ll take no deal short of SCOTUS Justice.

Since when has he given a d*mn about the Democrat party?
Remember how he siphoned off all the donations to his own
campaign and left the other candidates running for office
sucking wind? (Not that I cared at the time.)

I don’t see Obama as backing down. What do you say ml/nj?

Well, first of all, I honored that you would ask.

I think Dick Morris is a schmuck, so I don't pay ANY attention to what he says. My own guess is that he has some fondness for Bill but dislikes Hillary, but he would never let his personal ambition get in the way of any of this.

As for Hillary (and Bill) I think she would stab Obama in the back as long as she could do so in some way where she thought the Schvatzas wouldn't understand. She is a low-life, conniving scum, potentially more dangerous than Obama himself.

I hope this answers your question.

Morris is usually right however I disagree with him on this. obama is too much of a narcissist and meglomaniac to bow out on his own.

If the dems want him to go they will have to do it in a primary. The implication of a primary contest for the dems would be that even obama is too toxic and liberal for them. The third and fourth order effects for the dems are too numerous to hash out here.

The blacks will never abandon Obama. He is an icon for them.

The left is delusional if they think they can get him off the ticket. Remember, many blacks are well steeped in the culture of victimhood and racism. They have been continually encouraged to respond to every problem with the reflex of the attitude that evil white republicans are against them, and that makes anything want fair.

Even if Obama willingly steps down, my gut is the blacks will be furious. Their reaction will be “The man” isn’t going to give their guy a chance, and they are all racist.

The dems are utterly dependent on the black vote. Dumping Obama would be tough. Even if he “voluntarily” stepped down, it would turn off a lot of Holder’s people. Probably not a viable strategy.

He’ll take no deal short of SCOTUS Justice.

But then he'd have to discuss his legal career and explain why he surrendered his license ....

I venture to say that compared to himself, he doesn’t care anything about the Democrat party...look at his speeches: “I, I, I, I, I, I, my, my, my, my, me, me, me, (along with a few “uhs” for emphasis!)”. He declares without fear of response from the RINOs (where are they today when a vote is needed on spending taxpayers money? on vacation) that it would really be convenient and much more efficient if he could just unilaterally pass laws without the Congress being involved...so much better an arrangement is his argument...and, in fact, he is doing much of this by executive fiat....czars (I cannot believe that NO ONE is calling him to account for this arrangement), regulations, immigration failure (18,000-man Mexican army of illegals inside the U.S. border), loaning our money to questionable causes who are his financial supporters (more reported today), misuse of Air Force 1 in buzzing New York—disgraceful, yet the “lid” is on..only Rep Issa seems to be interested in the abuse of our laws and money by this Administration...dangerous times, we are in!

When I saw this thread title I wondered who the Clinton advisor was.

Then upon seeing it was Morris I realized it was a non story.

Ham hocks is waiting in the wings, zero will bow out due to health reasons and secure a high position at the UN with bubbas help, a small payback. Ham hocks will jump into the race as the democratic saviour who will continue the zero legacy while the whole world sympathizes and feels for zero and his ailment. If you think this wasnt planned before the 08 elections your nuts. The object is to continue the progressive global socialist transformation, this is a relay race and he will pass the baton

I doubt he’s considering bowing out. He is accomplishing everything he set out to do: fundamentally transforming the United States of America by destroying it.

Top down, bottom up, inside out. Election? Why would he need that? He has plenty of time between now and then to finish us off.
