Any of the announced Republicans could clean Obama’s clock in a debate.

2. Return to robust job creation with a bold set of tax cuts and regulatory reforms that will free American entrepreneurs to invest and hire, as well as by reforming the Federal Reserve and creating a training requirement for extended federal unemployment benefits to encourage work and improve the quality of our workforce.

How many training programs do we need? And train for what? The people I know on unemployment have skills, but the jobs are being outsourced. Another government handout. What about the mom that will need day care to attend the training. Will she be paid child care?

Unemployment should never be a two year program. It needs to be shortened to something realistic. We need to work on an environment where businesses can expand, not expand the unemployment programs.

You’re correct and on FR you’d be elected on that platform in a heartbeat. Reality is though that you’ll never get your agenda through Congress or the people.

You have to find some balance between Mommy and Daddy approaches, thought they needn’t be equal. Democrats have 5 generations of Americans believing they can’t. It won’t change overnight. We’ll need to move from a welfare program that supports teen motherhood to one that supports adoption and teen sexual restraint and education. 80% or so of the poor are products of unwed teen mothers without a HS education.

You’ll never get real free trade, country by country without the WTO and all the games, without helping those displaced by the gains from free trade. We’re not going to return to the Lochner era in one step.

To do that we need:

1. School vouchers
2. A SCOTUS with more Thomas’s on it
3. Control of Congress for at least 20 years.

To do that you’ll have to compromise, but 5 yards is 5 yards and some days you’ll only get a yard. Keep your eye on the prize though.
