Article II. Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every Power, Jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled.

Obama is in a terrible hurry to completely ruin the US by January 20, 2013. If he doesn't, he cannot afford to lose the next election, or the justice system will turn on him and his fellow travelers.

The suing of the states is getting ridiculous and even more unsettling— is that it is all political.
Wasting taxpayer money and time and hurting states in this economy for pure politics.
It is disgusting, even more so because most American’s favor having our immigration laws enforced.
Our gov’t uses our tax dollars to fight against us.

This is so frustrating and infuriating!
The one thing that the federal gov’t is supposed to do, they won’t do and even fight the states over it.
It makes me feel helpless.

The federal goverment, the president and his appointed csars are at war with the states and its people

Was this sort of thing common before Obama? The fed gov taking states to court, challenging state laws?
Seems to be common now.

No, apparently not. From the article:
I dont recall any time in history that the Justice Department has so aggressively challenged state laws, said Jonathan Turley, a constitutional law expert at George Washington University Law School.

Good every time they challenge one in court the other states law enforcements can proceed with the same law because it is court approved. Cops now have the green light from one side of the country to the other to ask for proof of citizenship, because of the federal judge ruling in Alabama. An illegal, no longer get to walk, wreck you go to jail, false id, you go to jail, no insurance you go to jail, etc, the only stop is surrender monkey's like Perry.

Not to be picky, but Turley’s too much of a lefty to be a reliable observer on the hue of a blue sky.

So there is a time when the Justice Dept more aggressively challenged state laws? Could you tell me when?

I don’t know, that is why I asked in my earlier post.

I have nothing to go on other than what Turley stated, and the fact that I can’t recall anything like this. I’ve not researched the history of the JD suing states but off the top of my head, nothing stands out in my mind.

President Obama is staking out a position on the other side. He told a roundtable of Latino reporters Wednesday that Arizonas immigration law created a great danger that naturalized citizens, individuals with Latino surnames, potentially could be vulnerable to questioning. The laws could be potentially abused in ways that were not fair to Latino citizens. Since its about the potential for abuse I have a solution which would satisfy his standards. The states could create ImmigrantWatch.com

Obama is on the side of the illegal invaders, isn’t it obvious?
Treason.

“Obama is on the side of the illegal invaders, isnt it obvious?
Treason.”
As far as the democratic base is concerned, Obama is on the side of the illegal foreigner that took your job in your own land.
