With a midnight deadline looming, the Energy Department has approved three more loan guarantees for solar energy totaling about $3.5 billion.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu says the department has completed a $1.5 billion loan guarantee to Arizona-based First Solar Inc. for a 550-megawatt solar farm on federal land in Southern California and $646 million to Exelon Corp. for a 230-megawatt solar plant near Los Angeles.

A third project, worth $1.4 billion, will support installation of about 750 solar rooftop panels in 28 states.

From local media: "The largest dam demolition in the nation’s history will begin Saturday when an excavator claws away at the concrete supports for Washington’s 108-foot Elwha River Dam, a ceremonial act of destruction that will signal not only the structure’s demise but the latest step in a broad shift in the way Americans are managing rivers. Faced with aging infrastructure and declining fish stocks, communities are tearing down dams across the country in key waterways that can generate more economic benefits when they’re unfettered than when they’re controlled."

The environmental left are dancing with glee. But, the biggest leverage cam from the tribes that support only liberal (say; Politically Correct) politicians.

The Elwha Dam supplied electricity to Washinton's Olympic Peninsula. We are now going to "purchase" energy from wind mills and solar farms. But the potential for fish going up the river that isn't there and that only tribes will be able to farm is apparently huge. (at least in the eyes of democrats)

Because the US is rolling in dough at this point and we can afford a technology that so far hasn’t proven very profitable for the private companies operating it..........

What an idiotic series of loans.

The new President, after he cancels Bobocare, as his second act, should call these loans due.

And they ignored our down grading to AA+ - Barry’s intent all along was to bring it down w/no possibility of it going up. Where aren’t these candidates screaming from the rooftops about this - instead of trying to prove they aren’t racist - the trap set out for them by the left! No leader among them!

Crony capitalism right before our eyes - no wonder Sarah is a thorn in their side. Where are the candidates - why aren’t they screaming about this? Oh wait - none of them are leaders - just ‘talk’ conservative to tickle ears. Keep below the fray so they won’t be a target - what wusses!

Will someone wake me when this nightmare from hell is over? cut the military retirees and veterans, hit the taxpayers on bailouts, throw money to nations that not only hate us but give us nothing but grief in return...please tell me this is not really happening!

Better Obaba start out small....say lemonade stands or garage sales. Get a little experience on his business resume first.

As for solar, two years ago, I bought shares of China’s two biggest solar energy companies. Should have done good as China is a low cost, high volume producer.

But my solar stocks have been reserse 5 baggers.
Serious el stinko stocks.
Solar just is not where it is at.

Obaba’s tripling plus down into USA solar stocks (I assume all USA solars) should be disasters and his personal net worth should be on the line for his investment actions.

If we are going to be stuck with a socialist fascist for President, as least we ought to have a competent one. Putin is also a wannabe thug but at least he is a smarter, more competent thug. Obaba’s spent big bucks to hide his origins and college transcripts....judging from his actions, the guy was probably a poor student, who blamed others for his failings. As he does still.

But Harry Reid couldn’t find $3 billion in cuts to offset additional aid to FEMA and threatened to close down the govt if it wasn’t added to the debt.
