I like this guy. I like him a lot!
This is exactly the sort of thing that we Tea Party conservatives have been wanting to hear from our elected reps.
Commie lib heads are exploding everywhere tonight. They love the government telling them what they can and cannot do. Less decisions to have to make that cuts into their texting time.
Can’t wait to see the fallout, or see who signs on.
I can't wait to see who doesn't sign on. This is a litmus test for the 2012 congressional election.
“Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska, left) plans to introduce a controversial bill that would abolish every federal regulation enacted in the past two decades, including restrictions on banking, oil drilling, healthcare, and food and drug safety. “My bill is very simple, I just null and void any regulations passed in the last 20 years,” Young announced to a crowd at the Anchorage Downtown Rotary Club”
Now you’re talking.
This is EXACTLY what this country needs:
A true “reset” backwards for a fresh start.
It’s important that such a bill be introduced in Congress, and at least voted on in the House (even though it has no chance of passage until at least 2013).
Make them vote. Tells us where they stand.
Just sayin’...
Mr. Speaker, I arise in support of the gentleman from Alaska.
I agree, great idea. And since it involves redacting by a timeline it should keep the bureaucrats busy sorting papers, which is of course what they do best anyway.
BTTT My Rep.
Guy sounds like VP material.
Bumping this wonderful story to the top!
Legislation has been proposed for the repeal of all regulations for the past 20 years!
I’ve sent it to my congresscritter. Hopefully by Monday morning, all 435 of them will be feeling the heat to sign on to it.
Thanks for the ping!
I wouldn't tarry on this, if I were a congress critter looking to keep my seat next November. Last one to sign is a rotten egg!
That's exactly what it is. This won't be passed by Harry Reid's Senate, but it's an important line in the sand for staking out objectives for the next Congress.
After it's re-introduced in 2013, and passes, I'd like to see more "resets" from Congress. Time to finally get the nightmare of Obammy the Commie behind us, and put this country back to where it ought to be.
As Rep. Young alluded, many of us were alive and doing well twenty years ago. Properly argued, this will be hard to fight even in an election year.
This is precisely and exactly what America needs; this guy should be the next president!
“Please speak to Mr. Young about his plan to introduce a bill that simply repeals all Federal regulations back to 1991. I personally hope it's an idea behind which you can get. It is certainly one of the ideas we tea party types had in mind when we repopulated the House last fall. STANDARD BOILERPLATE: The next Michign Primary is in 150 days. We, who elected you, are watching.”
I always vote for Donny Boy, but wish he’d hurry up and defund the Park Service like he was promising last year. Actually Don’s a good guy and quite colorful political; always makes his dem opponents look like kindergarten during the election debates here in Alaska. Alaskans like his attitude, he’s in for life.
>> a controversial bill that would abolish every federal regulation enacted in the past two decades
Hell yeah, that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout...
