Bill Clinton wants more credit

Bill Clinton thinks he deserves more credit for reforming welfare and balancing the budget.

“I go crazy every time I read the conventional wisdom,” he said Friday night at his presidential library in Little Rock, Ark. “So part of the Republican narrative is that I was ‘saved’ from myself by the election of the Republican Congress [in 1994] that ‘forced me’ to do welfare reform and ‘made the balanced budget possible.’”

Clinton said reporters and commentators “keep saying this, overlooking all relevant facts.”

Credit for what? Being the most shameless liar in Presidential history? In 1995 the Clinton administration unveiled their 5 year budget plan. It called for $200 billion Federal spending deficits out to the year 2000. When his plan was brought up for a vote in the US Senate it was defeated 99-0.

The guy has been out of office since 2000 yet is too narcissistic to simply let the writers of history spin the story for him, as they will. No, he has to try to influence it.

Didn't XXX-42 veto welfare reform twice before his pollsters and campaign advisers told him to sign it?

He vetoed the welfare reform bill twice before signing what amounted to the original bill. Now he wasnts credit for welfare reform that made a balanced budget possible? He is sooooo full of himself (I’m being nice here). This clown was second worse behind Jimmy Carter. Now he’s third worst behind Barak Hussein Obama.

Yes... it could have happened TWO YEARS sooner if he'd signed either of the first two bills... which, were identical to the one he signed. The only thing that changed was... it was an election year... Dick Morris told Slick Willie the polls were clear: veto Welfare reform again, and you lose.

Thanks MNJohnnie.
for reforming welfare and balancing the budget
Then he sez he goes crazy reading the conventional wisdom about how the voter repudiation in 1994 led to a Republican congress which shaped the agenda. What a dick.

The former Mud Snail in Chief gets full credit for the Sub Prime mortgage market, allowing banks to trade in risky securities markets, and for non oil related players to speculate in the oil markets. Thanks, chump.

That smarmy Lanny Davis was being interviewed this a.m. reliving the Clinton catastrophe.

Clinton is like an aging beauty queen who keeps her photos and trophies on prominent, permanent display....even as her wrinkled body shuffles on by.

She dismisses all the failures of her life except for the one thing that defines her: “superficial adoration”.

It was rapist BJ Clinton that got up and made the famous speech about everyone had the right to the "American Dream" of owning a home (wink-wink) and then put pressure on lenders to make it happen by lowering credit standards for people who could ill afford the properties.

The truth is he squandered eight years of his presidency that were consumed with scandals. He had no signature legislation to speak of. He was an epic failure.

Clinton latched onto the naive Bush clan in an effort to restore his tarnished image. Unfortunately, it has worked to some extent thanks to a still adoring media.

OK.. but how about more accountability for his myriad sex crimes?

Why do 60s Marxist-Alinsky spoiled brats like Bill and Hillary Clinton and the Ayers get away rape, sedition, and murder?

.. and how about that missile technology traded to Red China for campaign money?

We know about Bill Clinton's accomplishments already!

They get away with things because the liberals in the MSM do not hold them to the same standard as evil Republicans. Sad but true.

We got some proof of how the MSM operates from the Lewinsky scandal. That scandal burst on the scene when the story was broken by Drudge. Then, after the fact, we learned that the Washington Post and Newsweek had been sitting on the Lewinsky story for months, but had chosen not to go with the story. Officially I think they said they were still verifying facts before reporting it, or something along those lines. But the fact is they were sitting on a story which would have hurt a good Democrat president.

I’m sure the good liberals at the Wash. Post would have broken the Lewinsky story if a Republican president had been involved.

The reason that he receives little credit is because he was too busy raping women and having ejaculations in the Oval Office to be taken seriously. Permorning a sex act with or having a sex performed on oneself while conducting official business over a phone won’t garner much credit for oneself. “The most powerful man in the world” forcing himself on an intern also does net engender respect. In short he was and remains a loser.

This seems to be one of Goobers buttons, good, keep pressing this button and you will get into his head, and he will have a public meltdown...
