Document Dump: White House in Heavy Communication About Operation Fast and Furious
Townhall.com ^ | October 1, 2011 | Katie Pavlich

Barack Obama March 2011:

"First of all, I did not authorize it [Operation Fast and Furious]. Eric Holder, the attorney General did not authorize it."

"This is a pretty big government, the United States Government, I've got a lot of moving parts."

Barack Obama June 2011:

"As you know my Attorney General has made clear he certainly would not have ordered gun running to be able to pass through into Mexico."

"The investigation is still pending and I'm not going to comment on a pending investigation"

"It wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on the investigation if it is not completed."

New documents from the White House show extensive communications between for Special Agent in Charge William Newell, who has since been promoted to a cushy position within the Obama Justice Department in Washington D.C., and White House national security team staff about Operation Fast and Furious. In the video above, Obama claims it is his administration's policy to "catch gunrunners and put them into jail," when in fact ATF and DOJ policy under Obama has been exactly the opposite. ATF agents were told by senior officials to allow gunrunners to put high powered weapons into the hands of ruthless cartels, not to arrest them and to allow them to go back into Mexico.

From CBS News:

The documents show extensive communications between then-ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office Bill Newell - who led Fast and Furious - and then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly. Emails indicate the two also spoke on the phone. Such detailed, direct communications between a local ATF manager in Phoenix and a White House national security staffer has raised interest among Congressional investigators looking into Fast and Furious. Newell has said he and O'Reilly are long time friends.

William Newell admitted during testimony on Capitol Hill in July that the White House had in fact been in contact with him about Operation Fast and Furious. Newell even referred to Kevin O'Reilly as, "a good friend." Previous to Newell's admission, the White House denied any knowledge or authorization of Operation Fast and Furious. Once Newell said he was in contact with O'Reilly, the White House then claimed O'Reilly and two other White House national security staffers knew about the program but didn't know "details."

Now, we know that White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly was heavily briefed about the details of the operation through emails and phone calls.

Watergate wasn’t that big of a deal until Sam Ervin’s face replaced the soap opera schedules back in those days. Then it was a big deal.

The first network, cable or otherwise who finally starts cutting into regular programming with live testimony from congress and puts the special “Constitutional Crisis” logo on the bottom right will own the day and that will be the tipping point - critical mass.

At that point, there will be calls from more and more talking heads and print people for Obama to seriously consider stepping down.

Have you heard Biden lately? He’s either going to resign or be dumped off the 2012 ticket - this is going to happen within eight weeks-that’s my bet.

Someone is going to jail over this.

Someone...someone big...must...go to jail over this.

Somebody designed a scheme to undermine the Constitution...federal agencies broke a minimum of two dozen federal laws implementing it...and at least 200 people foreign nationals lost their lives, along with at least three federal agents.

Nobody died because of Watergate.

And the next administration must continue the Fast & Furious investigation...and punish whoever was responsible.

Otherwise, we have condoned lawlessness on the part of an administration.

--------------------------

Considering the level of stupidity on display at ATF, the agency might want to consider an insanity defense.

In a sane world, Congress would impeach at least the Department heads involved and depending on his involvement take impeachment action against the President himself. Instead, he's running for re-election.

The piss-stream media ignores corruption story after corruption story on a daily basis now. Sad real sad. Nothing to see here, folks, just move along. Ignore the dead bodies.

They also did not note that these docs were about Operation GUNRUNNER, which was a wholly legitimate op. These docs don’t contain ANYTHING about Fast and Spurious.
This is because the names of the separate ops have been used interchangeably by so many...and they are NOT the same thing at all.

Drudge has this story from CBS.com linked on his website:

New Fast and Furious docs released by White House

Drudge's headline reads: "WHouse quietly releases new documents on secret gun-running operation..."

Also this one: "WHouse quietly releases new documents on secret gun-running operation..."

That's a huge improvement for Drudge. He's only linked to stories about F&F a couple of times that I know of. Perhaps he was waiting for the majors to really start posting some articles about this before he ran with it. Dunno, but I'm glad to see him covering it.

Someone is going to jail over this.

There should be multiple executions over this.

Your last sentence is all important. If we condone lawlessness in our government, what make them think we need to abide by the law?

Someone is going to jail over this. Let’s just wait and see who drops the dime on who to stay out of jail. Lives will be ruined eventually......but who’s.

Some third level clerk in the payroll department will get the axe, but only if the janitor is not available.

‘...Trying to save all this somewhere’

That is exactly why I started my website- to save these documents and articles for reference.

This is a file of articles saved on this particular scandal-
