Well, Jesus did speak of the sickly tree, where the owner told the gardeners to “put manure” and see if it perked up, before condemning the tree for not fruiting. To be fair, to manure at the base of a tree would be unlikely to result in contamination of the fruit well above it.

I said pig feces, not manure because pig feces is the organic fertilizer used. They don't go out into fields picking piles of up cow, sheep or goat poop and then bring it back to the barn to add water in order to make it liquefy so they can spread it. Pig feces naturally comes liquefied, thus the organic fertilizer of choice out of economics over health. I know, I am surrounded by fields that are fertilized with it every year & is why I do not buy anything from those farmers. Jesus nor any of his people raised pigs. There is a reason Jesus cast the demons into a pig and not a cow, sheep or goat. And for the record, cantaloupe, nor any melon for that matter, are not grown on trees the last I checked.

About fifteen years ago, a group of hippies started an organic apple juice co-op. Their product was found to be contaminated with e-coli.

Everyone with more than two brain cells wondered at this because most e-coli outbreaks occur in meat due to improper slaughtering or handling.

The eneMedia tried to bury the fact that the wonderfully wise and fragrant nature nuts were picking up apples from the ground that had rested in...fertilizer. Then they weren't properly washed before squeezing, bottling and landing on your family's kitchen table.

A good intention coupled with ignorance leads to very bad consequences.
