Michelle Obama on President’s Upbringing: He Knows Economic Struggles
ABC News ^ | September 30, 2011 | Devin Dwyer

First lady Michelle Obama says her husband deserves re-election not only for his first term accomplishments and vision for the future, but because of his genuine empathy for families dealing with tough economic times.

“He understands these issues, not just because he’s smart but because he’s lived them,” Obama told a group of 100 campaign donors at a $2,500-a-plate luncheon in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

“He was raised by a single mother who struggled to put herself through school and pay the bills. And when she needed help, who stepped in? His grandmother, waking up early every morning to take a bus to her job at the bank,” she said.

Michelle Obama said a young Barack Obama learned to understand the sacrifices his grandmother made in raising him and the prejudices she endured as a woman.

“Believe me, Barack knows what it means when a family struggles,” she said. “He knows what it means when someone doesn’t have a chance to fulfill their potential.”

The first lady said Obama’s upbringing has allowed him to identify with the stories of thousands of Americans who write to the president about their situations and speak with him personally at events around the county. She said those stories motivate him and influence his decisions in office...

Am I the only one to see the hypocrisy of claiming to feel for people during tough economic times at a $2500 a plate dinner?

“....Nevertheless, because fully to know where anyone is going requires grasping whence he comes, let us open ourselves to wonder how, minus miracles, a 10-year-old boy without obvious talent who had lived in Indonesia since age six ends up with an eight-year scholarship to Hawaii’s most exclusive school; a scholarship to Occidental College; a transfer into Columbia University; acceptance into Harvard Law School, and editorship of its law review; and how he goes from job to prestigious job without apparently mastering any of the previous ones. No wonder some of Barack Obama’s supporters treat him as if he were anointed by an extraterrestrial power. “

.......................

His mother’s parents, who raised him, seem to have been cogs in the U.S. government’s well-heeled, well-connected machine for influencing the world, whether openly (”gray influence”) or covertly (”black operations”). His mother spent her life and marriages, and birthed her children, working in that machine. For paradigms of young Barack’s demeanor, proclivities, opinions, language, and attitudes one need look no further than the persons who ran the institutions that his mother and grandparents served—e.g., the Ford Foundation, the United States Information Agency, and the Central Intelligence Agency—as well as his chosen mentors and colleagues.

.......................

In sum, though the only evidence available is circumstantial, Barack Obama, Jr.’s mother, father, stepfather, grandmother, and grandfather seem to have been well connected, body and soul, with the U.S. government’s then extensive and well-financed trans-public-private influence operations.

>>He Knows Economic Struggles,

Right. His white liberal activist [redacted] mother... who met his daddy whilst learning Russian... so deprived him of the finer things in life whilst she was a Useful Idiot for the Ford Foundation. Uhuh.

What about Subprime pioneer Penny Pritzker - did she “struggle” too, when she was financing his campaign?

He has an amazing memory to remember this. When he left for Indonesia, he was just 6 years and 2 days old.

When he retirned to Hawaii, his grandmother was vice-President of the bank. She also been VP of Mercer Island Bank, Washington from 1955, so her years as a lowly bank clerk in Hawaii after 1960 were probably short. Did I say he has an amazing memory?

He remembers his rasist grandmother acting like a typical white person expressing fears of being harrassed by black dudes at the bus stop.

He remembers his grandma living in guarded seclusion during his campaign

He remembers his grandmother’s death (no comment)

He remembers the way he managed to squeeze in a memorial service for his grandma as part of his Christmas vacay

It is difficult to understand “economic struggles” since neither The Head Wookie and her headcase husband have ever held real jobs. They've been kept as pampered “house blacks” by their white liberal masters on the Democrat Party plantation.

The closest Barry ever got to a economic struggle was when he ran out of dope to smoke in his bong. I can't say what The Head Wookie’s greatest trauma was.

Zero might as well give up. He’s ruined the country and now is calling on mama, grandma and Michelle to help him through this. He needs to step up to the plate like a man but he doesn’t know how.
