Cain: Perry camp sign 'just plain insensitive' (Cain pulls the race card)
MSNBC ^

Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain criticized the name of a hunting camp once leased by Gov. Rick Perry's family as "just plain insensitive" in an appearance on Fox News Sunday. Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain criticized the name of a hunting camp once leased by Gov. Rick Perry's family as "just plain insensitive" in an appearance on Fox News Sunday. The name of the camp — "Niggerhead" — was first reported by the Washington Post on Saturday. The paper said the name was painted on a rock at the entrance of the property. Perry reportedly began hosting fellow lawmakers, friends and supporters at the secluded ranch early in his career. The offensive phrase has been painted over, but the Post's sources and the Perry campaign differ on when that was done. The Post reports that the name can still be seen through the paint. "My reaction is, that's just very insensitive," Cain told Fox. "[There] isn't a more vile, negative word than the N-word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, before I hear that they finally painted over it, is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country."

Well, that is my opinion. He met with big money people from Wall Street, He got his FATHER to send out a feeler by saying he thought his son would beat Obama, even his wide is running interference for him, he made a very Presidential sounding speech at the Reagan Library and he is arrogant enough and full of himself enough to try it.
One more thing, he FINESSED his earlier comments about illegals and attacked Perry over the same issue.
If he isn’t planning to run, something REALLY smells funny.

Palin has been flirting with us for months. I think she is just happy right now to be a fund raiser and spokeswoman.

But those are PURELY my personal opinion.

If I lose fine, but as long as Perry loses it will be worth me losing......you can call me anything you want, but until Perry leaves the campaign, I am going to ensure that we have a true conservative win the nomination and that guy is NOT Perry.

Regardless, Perry is not genuine, will say or do anything to be elected.

The main reason Cain is doing well this moment is because MSM pollsters pushed him.

Yes even with the internet and talk radio, the MSM pollsters still control and manufacture opinion. Even normally smart Conservatives fall for it.

Was the same deal for Bachmann, Trump and Perry.

The MSM draws the line at pushing Gov Palin...however Sarah has a trump card, money raised! Money raised will trump phony MSM polls

Sarah Palin 2012 or bust

I think Cain simply fell for the bait, and neglected to ask how long it had been painted out. If it had been painted out yesterday, that says one thing. If it were thirty years ago (as it appears it was!!) then that is quite different. Cain made the mistake of speaking off the cuff on a sensitive issue. (He has to learn not to do that!! Presidential candidates should not shoot off their mouths about ANYTHING they don’t know backwards and forwards.)

But Cain is a gentleman. I think tomorrow he will “clarify” his statement and make it clear tha the thing is a storm stuffed into a teapot, since it was painted over so long ago. If he doesn’t ... well, I’ll be disappointed in him. But I’ll wait till tomorrow to see.

I could have voted for Herman Cain in the primary...until now.
We don’t need another race candidate, Obama has that locked down tight.

Very upsetting as I thought Cain saw the light and was beyond all that.

“No, this attitude will not help Cain...... He called for a sense of humor and a sense of perpective..... He needs to show it...... That would have been a good time to laugh......The only thing that scares me ... well, one of several things, about Cain is my experience that black trumps everything with most blacks.....”

It seems that way doesn’t it?.....I feel that insecurity myself when it comes to Cain....And his response to this is not encouraging....White folk get slammed everyday and we are to just sit down shut up and take it.....

This is the “Big Dogs” (MSM) trying for a “two fer”.

I grew up in the north and remember comments by my elders that made a name of a place very tame.

Someone dropped this story to thin out the herd and sell papers.

Just my humble opinion.

As a former Cain supporter (until yesterday), Cain is too naive to be the Republican candidate. He should have never accepted the premise, and even said so, but yesterday, he blew it.

LOL; me too; He was on my approved list until yesterday. I reacted with fury at his politics of racism yesterday; trying to take advantage for himself. He actually used the word that must not be spoken on national tv. Different rules for different classes of folks apparently; I am so sick of FauxNews trying to select our nominee.

It wasn't a brief experience. Since the 80's whole generations of white kids have experienced forced integration and submissive tactics by whites and blacks to the new social order.

Oh by the way, that is not an humiliating experience when hundreds of kids led by the authority figures of the school call an assembly to scare the crap out of you.

I told you there are many more similar experiences both I and others in my generation could tell you, but you wouldn't want to listen.

Did you actually WATCH the interview rather than read MSNBC’s write up of it? Cain was simply asked to the name and he said it to some it is racially insensitive. He gave his opinion and moved on. He did not attack Perry.

I watched the interview. Cain attacked Perry for not acting sooner, but Cain should get his facts straight before he open his mouth.

Next day or two I guess.

With Romney in the running, another conservative could split our vote. If Christie runs, he will pull votes from Romney, once his true character and record is revealed. If Palin runs, she will pull votes from Cain or Bachmann.

Combustible and unpredictable mix.

We need a candidate who can improve the economy, secure our rights, prevent the deterioration of our Republic, APPOINT CONSERVATIVE Federal Judges, FIGHT the liberals not waltz with them, and do something about the Islamic Menace.

Just for those who can’t or won’t watch the Wallace interview for yourself, I wrote out what Herman Cain said:

Wallace: I want to ask you, there was a troubling story on the post today, about Rick Perry, The Governor of Texas and it indicates for years his family had a hunting camp in West Texas. And the name of it, written on a stone, was “N”- head, but obviously it wasn’t just “N” head.
Cain: Right
Wallace: And he was part of that camp, even as Governor. Your reaction.
Cain: My reaction is, that’s just very insenstive. There isn’t a more vile, negative word than the “N” word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, before, I hear, they finally painted over it, it’s just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country.

Then the interview went on about 9-9-9

THIS is what you are trying you are trying to compare Cain to Al Sharpton? REALLY?? Have you all actually ever LISTENED to Al Sharpton? Cain is a man who doesn’t even use “African-American” because he feels he is an American first.

Some of you really need to get a grip on reality!

Uri'el>Welcome to FR

Yep the typical reply of losers “you are a newbie, noobie, or whatever stupid name calling”. Anyway shame on you because you accused Perry and other freepers that they are racists. The Race Card is for losers. You are a loser, and yeah I have been here since September 21 2011 and I am speaking the truth about you.

You seem to have anger issues.

You might want to consider Professional Help.

Hmmm. I really don't like the fact that Cain is exclusively gunning for Perry.

As are "conservatives" Bachmann and Santorum. It's kind of weird.

Painted over the sign and turned the rock upside down before he reached early middle age are two suggestions that come to mind.

The family didn't start leasing the land until the early 1980s.

The Perrys never owned the property.
