Hank Williams Jr., the singer whose various videos for the hit song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Monday Night" has served as the intro to "Monday Night Football" for 23 seasons, compared President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler during a Monday morning appearance on "Fox and Friends." The statement led to ESPN pulling his popular intro segment, best known to fans for its "Are you ready for some football?" ending, for Monday night's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
During a discussion on the 2012 presidential race, Williams began discussing Obama's golf outing with Speaker of the House John Boehner. He said it was a political mistake, on par with "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu."

Jackass.
I think Hank Williams is wrong. At least Hitler was competent in handling the economy. I think the better comparison is to Lenin.
I might have to go out and buy a Hank Williams album.
Now that sounds like a plan.
Hank shouldn’t be working for those light in the loafers fairies at ESPN anyway. He’s better off.
Actually he never compared Obama to Hitler. What he said was Boehner and Obama Golfing was like Hitler and Netanyahu golfing. In other words, you could not find two more diametrically opposed people to play golf. He was no more likening Obama to Hitler than he was calling Boehner Netanyahu, ( which wouldnt even make sense as Boehner on his best day couldn’t even polish Bibi’s shoes.)
Stupid Gretchen Carlson and Stupid Stupid ESPN. Oh well two less things that I don’t watch that I will now avoid even more.
Obama is more like Mussolini, with strange twists of Lenin and Marx.
But regardless, it’s now the National Fondling League. I care about them no longer.
whoops I meant to say “supposedly” diametrically opposed.
ROFLMAO!
Good one :-D
Hank, bless his heart, as well as hi dad’s and son’s, the Third, oughta get his hitlers straight - it’s George W. Bush who’s Hitler. Sheesh, you’d think everyone knows by know.
At least Mussolini made the trains run on time. Under Obama, the TSA molests 95 year old grandmothers wearing Depends while letting Arabs go through without body searches.
Jr. is the topic here.
I wish I had come up with that one, but I’m just stealing and spreading the word!
Comparing BUSH To Hitler, No Problem! Good Job!
Comparing Obama to hitler, lose your job.
Amazing, isn’t it?
“I heard about Bush being hitler for years.”
We’re talking a different complexion, here. Anyone surprised?
Could sports be more racist? It’s sickening. It was Gretchen or someone who made something out of that question. I knew the minute she emphasized it that he was out.
He went on the show to publicize some newly discovered music by his father that’s out now on TV but they had to delve into politics.
I think this is kinda sad.
Good Gawd man you can’t say such a thing about the Messiaah.
Have you lost your mind.
Who do you think you are David Allan Coe?
My daughter got me a tee-shirt at a Hank Jr concert that says:
I'LL KEEP MY FREEDOM MY GUNS MY MONEY MY RELIGION AND YOU CAN KEEP THE "CHANGE". signed: Hank Williams, Jr.
I wear it often.
I cannot stand PC sports jerks.
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who noticed this. It seems like the fact of what he actually said was somehow “missed” (sarcasm).
Williams did NOT compare Obama to Hitler. He used an analogy of Hitler and Netanyaho to illustrate how politically polarized he thinks Boehner and Obama are.
You're right, it was Gretchen who caused the whole thing. Hank was there to talk about the CD and it was she who caused it all. And what really disappointed me was Brian with his deer in the headlights! You know his earpiece was going nuts. Fox and Friends has really let me down today.
“I wish I had come up with that one, but Im just stealing and spreading the word!”

Speading the word is good. That’s how we get stuff to go viral!
-Cheers!
An analogy, I believe is what this is called. He was comparing relative relationships. Not a person to a person.
Liberals are so ignorant. No wonder one can never explain anything to them. A liberal understanding logic would be like an caveman understanding calculus. Oops, did I say that liberals were cavemen?
Let the boy sing his song
ESPN fired Hank, Not the NFL. ESPN, it should be noted, formerly employed the human excrement that is Keith Olbermann. Food for thought.
hmm...I can’t tell from that line if the Hitler reference was supposed to reflect more on Boehner or Obama. Did the media just assume it was Obama?
thats because when its said against a GOPer its patriotic dissent- when it targets uber-liberals its hate speech...
I have always thought she is stupid. She might have book learning smarts, but no common sense. Actually I think she is dim-witted and slow to catch on. The Fox and Friends morning show has been less interesting ever since she came on. And at times I find her words to her co-hosts actually cruel and often very snippy. I think, behind the scenes, she probably acts like a diva and must have known someone to get the job. Something about her is just plain phony.
We’ve decided to BOYCOTT MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL for the rest of the season! Support Hank Williams Jr and BOYCOTT MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!
Mind if I borrow that T-shrt that reads: “ I’LL KEEP MY FREEDOM MY GUNS MY MONEY MY RELIGION AND YOU CAN KEEP THE “CHANGE”. signed: Hank Williams, Jr. “ from time to time?
Maybe Hank Jr. and Ray Stevens could team up for a few video/songs? Wearing those T-shirts, of course.
Great, prejudice against Cavemen is so 2000.
To be fair, Obama’s only had 3 million die on his watch frm abortion.
He most certainly did, albeit indirectly. Invoking "Hitler" to make a moral statement is so passe as to be meaningless were it not for the fact it can get one fired in a heartbeat. The mere fact the two names appeared in the same context is enough to drive PC wussies into cognitive contusions. Perhaps that was Williams' aim.
It'll be VERY interesting to see if ESPN finds a replacement for Hank Williams, Jr. though. Darius Rucker, a member of the band Hootie and the Blowfish and an accomplished country music solo artist in his own right, could probably be approached by ESPN to write a new theme song for Monday Night Football, since he's well-known to many high-profile ESPN employees (Rucker is close friends with both Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning show).
ESPN has a contract with the NFL and ESPN would not make such a move unless the NFL directed them to do so.
ILIKE Hank on Fakebook and read his statement (which I posted on another thread.) It is unique in that he, a wealthy performer, unlike most other wealthy performers, talks not about some abstract issues like climate change, and international politics, but about plain folks in this country who are suffering as a result of the policies of this administration, and knowing enough about Hank, you can be sure that his concern is not calculated, but sincere and genuine. I dig the man.
They can fire all the GOP supporters they want but this time there’s no biting the tongue.
Gretchen has been a lose, lose, since the day she took the F&F gig.
I have watched it very little ever since Faux go their pantys in a wad and ditched E.D. Hill, at least E.D. was an unabashed conservative.
During the back and forth, Hank told the interviewer that he doesn’t like any of the GOP candidates but if he were t choose one of them, the one who attracted him most was Herman Cain.
LOL!
wonder where we can buy one of Hank’s t shirts....
may I be so bold as to point out who decided pres. nero was hitler and mikey was bibi? after all the times i’ve heard pubbies described as nazis i would have thought they would think jr was calling mikey hitler. especially since jr is an entertainer who is automatically lib.
i guess in their cold hearts these libs at abc and espn actually think that this terrible thing about pres nero. or then again it is just another opportunity to censor free speech by telling other entertainers what to expect if they speak their mind.
