I’m with you. Everyone in town knows we try to make our house the scariest, so they all bring their kids. We don’t do anything ‘graphic’. Fog coming out a caldron with skulls in it and spooky music. A skeletal guy in the darkened 2nd floor window with a cape and flowing robes and a strobe light. A trash can that has a hydraulic monster that jumps up when I hit the button. But the thing the kids like most is my husband comes from around the back of the house to chase them away in his gorilla suit. They know it’s coming and still get scared. And the times he couldn’t do it, they were disappointed and asked about it. Last year we really freaked them out, because we had TWO gorillas. The next morning I have to go out and pick up all the spilled candy from the kids running away. LOL!
“Everyone in town knows we try to make our house the scariest...”
Those who want a good scare, come to your house. Those who object can stay home or go to another house. I don’t think anyone should be allowed to “object” to your spooky music or your gorilla. (wish I lived near you... we’d come!)
I love it! There's a small town north of me here in S.E. Michigan by about 15 miles called Romeo.
Every halloween, the whole town gets involved in the creepy festivities. People turn their yards into creepy cemeteries and zombies and monsters (not the trick or treaters) walk the streets to add to the creepiness. People come from all over to check it out which unfortunately leads to traffic problems....LOL!
I feel sorry for people like MEGoody who seem to have lost their "inner child" during the process of growing old - old and cranky.
