CAIN: So we get to the fountain, my brother and I, and we look around, there wasn't a lot of people there and I said to my brother, "You go first." He tasted the white water and then we looked around and says, "Your turn." We tasted -- I taste the white water. Then we both taste the colored water and we looked at each other, six and seven years old, the water tastes the same. What's the big deal? We had not been taught segregation at the age of six and seven. We wondered what the big deal was about.

Obammy never had to actually deal with segregation to the extent that Herman ever did.

Anyone who speaks to racial issues is going to end up stepping in it once in a while. Mr. Cain is a black (or African-American, if you prefer) with unquestioned conservative credentials who has stepped forward as a citizen, not as a partisan, insider, or favorite son of anyone. Those who seem to love to pick on him ought to think about what he IS, and leave the race issue of it.

Herman Cain is a classic working optimist, one who always sees the glass half full. Then he goes about seeing how he can fill the rest of the glass.

Cain can destroy the DNC by convincing some blacks to leave the Democrat Plantation.

He doesn’t use the “African-American” moniker. He considers himself an American (who happens to be black) :-)

For me the slip-up he did by answering the hunters club question is now water under the bridge. He proved last night on Hannity he is not a race card player. It was a great interview.

Cain is the refreshing drink of the truth in a world filled with half truths and lies.

Well, that’s what it amounts to, if you refuse to assimilate.

The interview with Cain is interesting. I believe the point he is making is that he came from humble roots and he was a child during some ugly racial times in our country. That being said, he is a proud American who is a successful, educated and loves his country. How many times have we heard the same old sorry story of “I’m a descendent of slaves”.. vs. I’m an American who loves my country. Just a thought.

Herman Cain: 'I Grew Up In The Segregated South, I Am Not Mad At America'Self made men rarely waste their energy on such things. Those who are on the dole, however.........rarely can pass up an easy excuse.

If merely 25% of the black vote went to the Republicans, it would break the most solid bloc vote in America, one that Democrats have taken for granted since the 1960s. Prior to the New Deal era, African Americans (where they were allowed to vote) supported the Republican Party, as it was the party that ended slavery and attempted to establish full civil rights for them during the Reconstruction era. The rise of white and Nordic supremacist thought in the North in the late 19th Century and weariness with Reconstruction related violence weakened GOP resolve toward equal rights for blacks after 1876. Immigration to Northern cities in the early 20th Century weakened the pro-Republican stance of African Americans, as Democrat political machines in New York, Chicago, and other industrial cities treated them as another ethnic group to be wooed and won with municipal jobs and other favors. The New Deal and its make work programs won yet more favor among blacks. By 1960, the majority of African Americans were Democrats. The support of civil rights legislation by Kennedy and especially Johnson in the face of nearly solid Southern Democrat opposition and the opposition of conservative Republicans (Goldwater, Buckley, etc.) cinched that support and made it overwhelming. (Those Republicans that supported civil rights legislation were considered "me-too Republicans" (a 1950s-60s term for RINOS), such as Nelson Rockefeller, William Scranton, and George Romney.)
Herman Cain could be the catalyst for at least a partial breakup of the 90%+ pro-Democrat leanings of African-Americans. Unlike Obama, he is the descendant of American slaves. Additionally, Obama has failed to deliver economic benefits for blacks, whose unemployment rate is well above 10%.

I remember as a child traveling to Alabama to visit my grandma. I encountered the two water fountains and wanted to know what color the “colored” water was.

“Cain can destroy the DNC by convincing some blacks to leave the Democrat Plantation.”
I don’t think it will happen, but it would be fun to watch.

Christy is out. The field is set. It’s time to pick the best candidate and get behind him. They all have flaws, but Herman Cain has the fewest and most fixable flaws of all, so my choice is Cain.
