Holder Claims Did Not Understand Question “When Did You First Learn About Fast and Furious?”
Gateway Pundit ^ | October 4, 2011 | Jim Hoft

According to reports last night Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath about Fast and Furious during testimony to Congress. On May 3, 2011, while under oath, Holder told a Congressional committee, “”I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.”

But, new emails prove he was notified about Fast and Furious back in July 2010.

Today, the Obama Justice Department claimed Eric Holder did not understand the question:

The Justice Department told CBS News… Holder misunderstood that question from the committee – he did know about Fast and Furious –just not the details.

Congressman: Mr. Holder, did you know your Administration was selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels?
Holder: Eleven.
Congressman: Eleven?! That doesn't answer the question I asked!
Holder: Sorry, I thought you were asking me how old my daughter is.
Congressman: Were you aware that the Obama Administration was selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels?
Holder: Annie Hall.
Congressman: Annie Hall? What are you talking about?!
Holder: Sorry, I thought you asked me what film won Best Picture in 1977.
Congressman: Enough of this nonsense! Were you aware that the Obama Administration was selling guns to the Mexican drug cartels?
Holder: Jupiter's moon Callisto.

What is nice about this one is the subject of the apparent perjury is “Supplying Mexican drug gangs with US made weapons”, is a toxic news story in itself. Then you got the charge of perjury, the trick here is to get it in the news.

First Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner can't pay his taxes, now Attorney General Eric Holder commits perjury. What clowns we have in government!

What's next the President failure to uphold the Constitution? /S

Scooter Libby was convicted for a lot less.

Holder should try Steve Martin's strategy:

Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: "I forgot!"

How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don't say "I forgot"? Let's say you're on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, "I forgot armed robbery was illegal." Let's suppose he says back to you, "You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, 'I forgot'?"

Two simple words: Excuuuuuse me!!"

Perjury would be the quickest way to get rid of Holder. He claims he first learned of Fast and Furious late April 2011.

The Border security guard was killed in December 2010, there are articles reporting ATF guns at the crime from Dec 28th 2010. Border Patrol agent killed with ATF-smuggled AR? Some ATF agents seem to think so.

Rather than launch an internal investigation into the murder and the illegal scheme, the Department of Justice under Eric Holder, according to ATF whistleblowers, instead attempted a coverup.

An article from March 2011 UK

..The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has been accused of allowing guns to slip across the border and fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

The allegations made by senior agent John Dodson came after it was discovered that the gun used to kill a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Mexico was first bought in a Dallas, Texas store.

Holder is obviously lying. Many of the released documents last week were redacted. A key witness was sent out of the country, Hopefully a special prosecutor would have access to all of it.

BINGO!

Next time he’s questioned they should treat him like a child.

Ask him repeatedly: “Do you understand the question?”

Congress: “When did you first hear about F & F”, “Do you understand the question?”, “Do you know what we are asking?”, “Somehow you got confused last time we asked. We thought it was a pretty clear question.”, “Are you confused about what we are asking?”, “Do you need the question in writing?”, “It is a 9 word question. If I write it down on a scrap piece of paper would that help?”

Belittle him and treat him like a simpleton. He deserves it.

The real question is why did he lie. What influence does this administration have over the man that he rather be subject to perjury charges and ruining his career then being honest and straightforward with congress?

You said...

Getting it in the news appears to slowly be happening

This is another big scandal that this president is going to face going into the election season. However, I have no doubt in my mind if the economy was doing great, the electorate wouldn’t be as bothered by this story which is a sad commentary on the electorate, in a way

That goes the other way too. If the economy was going well in 2007 and 2008 Obama would not likely be in the WH. I keep trying to get 'Republican Firsters/excuse-ists' to wake up to that fact.

Holder is a big progressive, from the Clinton administration, I think he was helping push a progressive agenda willingly. The law firm he came from did pro bono work for terrorists.

thread, Holder’s Dubious History

from Michelle Malkin
...note that AG nominee Holder is a senior partner with Covington & Burling, a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis currently held at Gitmo.

He is used to dealing with the criminal element, he liked to represent them.

Holder brought many of his law firm attorneys and their ideology to the Department of Justice

link, 9 in the DOJ represented terrorists

Attorney General Eric Holder says nine Obama appointees in the Justice Department have represented or advocated for terrorist detainees before joining the Justice Department.

But he does not reveal any names beyond the two officials whose work has already been publicly reported. And all the lawyers, according to Holder, are eligible to work on general detainee matters, even if there are specific parts of some cases they cannot be involved in.

I would classify Mexican Drug Cartels as terrorists, in Fast and Furious. Holder needs to go along with all of his law firm friends.
