New ATF Head: ‘We’ve Got to Hit Reset’ on Investigative Moves in Wake of Fast and Furious (Too Late)
Fox News ^ | 10/5/2011 | By Mike Levine

Posted on 10/06/2011 3:32:12 AM PDT by tobyhill

Hoping to chart a new path forward in the wake of the controversial "Fast and Furious" investigation, the newly assigned head of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Wednesday that "everything is under review" in the way of investigative practices and processes at the agency.

“We've got to hit the reset button and move forward," acting director B. Todd Jones said.

The furor over "Operation Fast and Furious" focuses on tactics used by ATF investigators in Arizona to target major gun-runners. Launched in late 2009, the investigation planned to follow gun purchasers in hopes that suspects would lead them to the heads of Mexican cartels. But high-powered weapons tied to the investigation ended up at crime scenes in Mexico and the United States, including the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry late last year.

I am sure Brian Terry’s family is overjoyed to hear that Brian will be restored to life when Acting Director B. Todd Jones hits that “reset”...

The media needs to stop repeating the lie that this was about tracking guns. It was not! It was about undermining the Peoples second amendment rights. It was never about “tracking guns”

I would make bets his reset button will be to attack gun dealers. More than likely the ones that fast and furious persuaded to sell guns to straw buyers will be the first hit.

The head of ATF has been changed ,but Obama’s agenda hasn’t,not in the least. IMO This guy is just another stooge appointed to do Obama’s dirty work for him.

Anyone with a brain (an IQ greater than room temperature) knows the only one STUPID enough to think this up and try it was the Community Organizer himself.

This is OBAMA’s WATERGATE and the pawns are being used to protect Obama.

Just like the PATRIOTS marcing on Wall STREET to make the idiot Obama voters think it was Wall Street, NOT BIG GOVERNMENT that caused this mess.

It is far past time to bring this house of cards down and the lying media with them.

How about starting with investigating f&f with federal murder, corruption charges of Washington Elites. Then maybe the people will take them serious.

Sometimes in chess, you have to knockoff a few pawns. For the sake of the country these thugs need to have their lives ruined. Wrist slapping is what got us in this mess.

This is why we need a strong Second Amendment supporter as our candidate. Obama gets another four you know the lying, conniving POS will be coming after guns next.

Another one of 0bama's simple minded pinheads - once the genie is out of the bottle, you can't get him back in. The liberal lunacy of 0bama's minions have already cost lives and even if they shuffle the underlings around like musical chairs, they're not going to get those guns back! IMPEACH and REMOVE Holder and 0bama!

I'm sure Nixon would have liked to "hit the reset button."

Can you imagine the media's reaction if John Mitchell had addressed the media and stated that "we've got to hit the reset button and move forward" ?

I agree, the BATFE has been a criminal enterprise engaged primarily in harassing law abiding citizens for a long time now. They should have been disbanded 20 years ago.

And this guy has Got to know he is a pawn. His political future maybe even his life is on the line here.I can’t imagine an evil man like Eric Holder being so stupid he would put somebody in ,even as a throw away, who would not do some damage to America on his way down. Remember Holder as well as
the ) both seem to have big stakes in this game.Question is which one has the dead mans hand?

Nothing more than getting fired or reassigned for conspiracy and being an accomplice to multiple murders is what passes for justice for those people who enforce those kinds of laws over us. Remember the murderer FBI agent Lon Horiuchi who killed Vicky Weaver and her son? Remember the FBI, ATF hot siege on Branch Dividian Compound in Waco Texas under Janet Reno who had to call in the Delta Force Army Unit commanded by Gen. Wesley Clark who then torched the compound murdering innocent men women and their kids? Janet Reno’s testimony to Congress was they had to kill the children in order to save them. Not one of those people have ever been held to account, in fact, our Gov. pushed reset on both.

“They should have been disbanded 20 years ago.”

Actually there was SERIOUS talk about doing exactly that nearly 40 years ago. Remember the term “jackbooted thugs” to describe the ATF? That term was coined by none other than John Dingell (D-MI) when his committee was investigating ATF abuses in the 1970s.

The real reason why the ATF was not disbanded then was because their personnel were so substandard that no other federal agency would take them. And so, the cancer was allowed to fester and spread and grow.

Why is everyone focusing on the “reset button” part? He also said, “move forward” —something considerably more revealing:

He’s saying that with 2 officers and 3,000 Mexicans dead that WE SHOULD SIMPLY FORGET ABOUT ALL THIS.

“Move on” was formed during the Monica Mess, and their real message was, “All this unpleasant stuff should simply not matter”.

The expressions, Move On and Move Forward really mean, “You’re pestering me with stuff I don’t like and I prefer to ignore it...”

Are you saying to remember this name from this time forward, or should we have remembered him from sometime before?
