The Nobel Prize in Literature 2011 is awarded to Tomas Tranströmer "because, through his condensed, translucent images, he gives us fresh access to reality".

So, I take it this guy is a Communist too?
Pffttt!!!
Nah, just your garden-variety socialist.
I lean like a ladder and with my face
reach into the second floor of the cherry tree.
Im inside the bell of colours, it chimes with sunlight.
I polish off the swarthy red berries faster than four magpies.
At once, after this joyously sunny opening, the tone darkens:
A sudden chill, from a great distance, meets me.
The moment blackens
and remains like an axe-cut in a tree-trunk.
National Insecurity
The Under Secretary leans forward and draws an X
and her ear-drops dangle like swords of Damocles.
As a mottled butterfly is invisible against the ground
so the demon merges with the opened newspaper.
A helmet worn by no one has taken power.
The mother-turtle flees flying under the water.
sorry Nobel prizes lost all meaning when they gave one to AlGore and another to Obummer.
A terse, poignant, and sparsely told story of Ima Kweer, the Muslim child of Peece Immaharmless-Allah and Joi Immaharmless-Allah. Ima finds the harse and wicked realities of living in his native Pakistan as he grows up in the United States Kill Children Zone occupation territory. Yet he finds tender love buttons in a lone expatriot Chaz Bono who cannot reciprocate his advances. Chaz, however, befriends Ima and smuggles him to Mexico where he then has to cross the border and narrowly escapes being shot by a tribe of Redneck froth-breathers. As he continues to assimilate into the nation of what should be hope he finds the meaning of real hatred when confronted by evil Christians who have just finished butchering an old man for expressing his love for nine-year-old boys. Ima, seeing real life for the first time, determines in his heart to march on Wall-Street where he singlehandedly ushers in a great new age of fairness for all.
This thread is worthless without condensed, translucent images.
He’s definitely a generic Swedish socialist, but apparently he was criticized during the late 60s/early 70s for being apolitical and artsy.
I look on the Nobel Prizes, and most other prizes, as leftists giving other leftists awards. Obviously, in certain scientific fields the awards might be valid. But awards for literature or other arts are highly suspect.
