White House Won’t Comment on Reuters Story About Secret Panel That Can Put Americans on ‘Kill

Reuters’ Mark Hosenball today reported http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/05/us-cia-killlist-idUSTRE79475C20111005 that: “American militants like Anwar al-Awlaki are placed on a kill or capture list by a secretive panel of senior government officials, which then informs the president of its decisions, according to officials. There is no public record of the operations or decisions of the panel, which is a subset of the White House’s National Security Council, several current and former officials said. Neither is there any law establishing its existence or setting out the rules by which it is supposed to operate.”

I’m glad the traitor is dead, but didn’t Obama have enough time to try him for treason in absentia and then order execution with some semblance of due process for an admittedly despicable citizen?

2. But Ron Paul is an antisemitic, pro-jihad, pro-drug, isolationist, pro-illegal-alien lunatic.

3. Therefore it must be OK to sometimes kill American Citizens without due process.

Any one care about the Constitutional right to due process? When will they vote to kill you for being on free republic? Hummmm? Any constitutional concerns here for US citizens or do we just kill’em? Let’s have the government just vote who dies— Yeah Dats it!! Have we lost our country??

This terrorist was actively waging war and bragging about it on the internet. He wasn't in custody of the USA. This particular terrorist was nothing more than an anchor baby to begin with. I absolutely despise the current inhibitor of the Whitehouse, but this is reaching. That missile saved ground personnel from having to extract him for trial.

Excerpt from the 14th Admendment: ...No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law...

Nope, the type of cans you put beans in, who can marry who or any other thing they can find in the Constitution, but plain text and meaning is quite beyond their ability. Perhaps they should read this from the Declaration of Independance: But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. I would suggest that if we have to institute a new government to garner back our freedom, we use the Constitution of the Unites States of America. The plain text version of course.

But then, that would take someone in Government that knew how to actually follow the law. The present group of "leaders" feel themselves above the law, or are simply lawless. I fear the only law they would ever follow is the law of gravity at a gallows.

I think the fact of one of these scrots being put on the list, along with the names and/or titles of the folks on the panel, should be made public.

Sure the much of the evidence, and in some cases who presented it, needs to be kept secret, sources and methods you know. But let the bastards worry about there being a Hellfire on a drone above them with their name on it. Of course they are probably worried anyway, but getting their names on a wanted Dead or Alive, preferably Dead, poster might help.

Congress could issue a letter Marque or Reprisal, the former in the case of seaborne terrorists, like those who prey in the waters of the northwestern Indian ocean. Have every dude with a jeep, a land cruiser or a camel hunting those on land.
