The secret service can’t really protect any candidate’s family, especially when you include extended family. So are we saying the bad guys or opposition now have a way to take out (of the running) any of our candidates that they find particularly threatening to them?
As for the cash Perry is raising, that's coming from well connected, established Texas money. Not surprising at all.
I think Alaska presents a challenge none are prepared for.

I was glad to learn from her that her decision was made by her family and that she had made it on the day she notified Mark Levin. I know she had every desire to run, and that she was in serious prayer and serious discussions with her family. It’s a family affair to run. God bless them always and she’s not going away. We will be here to always support her endeavors whatever they may be.

Another thing to watch... if Palin sells that Arizona house. If she does sell it soon, it means she likely WAS going to run, then something changed quickly.
