Mexico says trucks to cross US border within weeks

Oct 6 (Reuters) - Mexican trucks will start crossing the U.S. border again in a couple of weeks, reducing transportation costs between the two neighbors by some 15 percent, Mexico's Economy Minister Bruno Ferrari said.

The resolution of the long-standing cross-border trucking dispute should give an additional boost to Mexican manufacturers, who have been fighting to increase their market share in the United States.

"If you take into consideration that Mexico's manufacturing costs are at least 25 percent lower than in the U.S., this is going to be a very strong competitive advantage," Ferrari told Reuters in an interview late Wednesday.

Mexican manufacturers have been in a fierce battle with Chinese exporters to gain market share in the U.S.

When they start driving drunk and killing more people that way than they already do, only then will the islamic communist puppet’s government THINK that it might have made a slight mistake. And do nothing or make the American victims pay for the mex’s trucks or drunk driving fines.

Mexican trucks have been coming across the border for longer than you have been alive.

All this bill does is change Tariff structures and insure inspections.

What? There are already Mexican trucks on our roads?

From the article:
“The first trucks to cross the border will come from companies that have already applied to participate in an inspection and monitoring program signed by U.S. President Barack Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon in July.

Other companies willing to join the program have to go through a certification process that lasts about 18 months, the minister said.”

I am shocked no one has declared that this is Perry’s fault.

Because those who were afraid of Perry and secretly preferred a Romney or continued Obama presidency have been effective in making Perry irrelevant.

As soon as the first trucks enter U.S. territory, Mexico will eliminate 50 percent of the retaliatory tariffs imposed on U.S. goods, causing about $2 billion in commercial losses to the United States

Sshshhh. Don't let reality interfere.

Well—they sure look like Mexican trucks—Mexican plates, etc. If someone has earlier required that they had to be inspected before crossing the border, I missed hearing that.

Surely our pointy booted governor wasn’t responsible for that, was he?

I was kind of being tongue in cheek.
Yes, they are Mexican trucks.
They have been conducting commerce with us using trucks for as long as there have been trucks.

I don’t know what the inspection process is, but I am certain there is one.

I was beginning to wonder about you—but then I looked up your profile and see that you are an “immigrant” to TX—LOL! (I’m 5th generation Texan)

About 30 years ago what looked like a Mex truck but TX license plate, almost ran me off I-10 in Houston. I got the lic# and reported the truck...and the lic# plate was registered to a VW. True story.

When I was visiting El Paso, the most ridiculous drivers were the few I saw with Mexican plates. They would literally do somewhere around 90mph get on your ass and whip around you.

The rest of them with Texas plates didn’t like you to pass them. I have NO IDEA what that’s about down there.

Obama can create jobs for Mexicans but is clueless how to put Americans to work.

He and they know exactly what their doing.

I am trying to find info on the rules.
I think prior to this agreement Mexican trucks could only go so far into border states.

Now, with this new bill Obama passed they will have unfettered access to all of Americas roadways.(something not mentioned in the article)
That will indeed hurt American truckers and changes my statement that this only changed tariffs and requires inspections.
