I remember, many tears ago, developing a theory about playing Pac Man.
I was on a bus trip to Arizona and we laid over a few hours in Texas somewhere while they washed the bus.
I whiled away my time using one quarter to successfully play Pac Man for the 45 minute or so duration.
In the time it took to get away from the game, grab a coke and a candy bar (or some other such junk) and finding my way back to the bus and my seat .. and waiting until we got rolling again ... maybe 1/2 hr / 45 minutes before I picked up the book I had been reading before we stopped.
My eyes jumped up and over and down and over and down and up and down and over and up and ...
I couldn't focus on following the printed sentence and had to wait a while (an hr. ? .. I dunno) before I could read normally.
THAT was an epithany to me.
NOW ... if I'm right about conditioning (eh, Pavlov ?) ... imagine what these numbed skulls must do after a few hours of speeches ..
