Who is Eric Holder? Attorney General Reno's top deputy could 'write his own ticket' in 1998
NY Daily News ^ | November 18, 2008 | KATHY KIELY AND RICHARD SISK

WASHINGTON - Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder used to shoot hoops for Stuyvesant High in New York City, but these days, he tosses a blue "stress ball" at wood-paneled office walls.

As Attorney General Janet Reno's top deputy in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Justice Department, Holder also is juggling political time bombs.

He's at the helm of the campaign finance investigation and the potentially explosive review of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. assassination files. He's also quietly reviewing the independent counsel law.

I guess I can't keep track of all the terrible stats on this group of lairs, but really, this one is just awful.

Reno should be in jail. Just how did this guy make it past the Republicans???

Holy crap I hate politicians.

When the Senate had hearings concerning the Marc Rich pardon, Robert Byrd said to the effect that Holder's role in that travesty would disqualify him from ever holding a public office again. Now he's our AG?

I guess it helps to know where the bodies are buried.

As the nation's chief law enforcement officer, today he just writes tickets on his enemies, and fixes the tickets of his friends... er... his people.

I thought the infamous Jamie Gorelick was Reno’s top deputy. But if Holder resigns, she may be a top candidate to replace him. Yikes, it might be better if Holder can hang on for a few more weeks, because Gorelick would be able to shove a lot of evidence under the rug.

But he did so well at Justice's public integrity section that in 1988, Republican President Ronald Reagan named the registered Democrat to D.C.'s Superior Court.

How did this happen?

“How did this happen?”

I guess when you tie your star to the Arkansas mafia and the extreme left of the DemocRAT party, things... change.

And at the time of his nomination, none other than Snarlin Arlen Specter was the ranking member of the Judicial Committee. The same one who flipped for 0bamacare. I can’t STAND either one of them.

Holder’s Waco chickens are coming home to roost. One cannot kill all those people while in a position of authority and not get what’s coming to you eventually.

Clinton, Reno and the Southern Poverty Law Center were looking for conservative 'lone wolves' in those days too ...

Elites didn't call the scam 'Fast and Furious', they called it 'Vast Right Wing Conspiracy'...

Holder comes from that time?

Wonder if there's a connection? Or danger - IMHO...

Fast and Furious was the chocolate reich’s “Gleiwitz incident” to declare war on and eliminate gun dealers and owners.

NONE of the questions from liberal moderators in the Republican debates have dealt with 'gun control'.

And the press?

They've quit writing stories about gun control...

Even the posters here can't fine a big pro gun control liberal newspaper story to post... The REASON is that Gun Control as an issue doesn't work for democrats. And all their little shills buy the party line and have DROPPED THE ISSUE.

Why during the run-up to a major election would they put gun control front and center? They wouldn't. Even the AFT agents involved couldn't figure out what Fast and Furious was about - that's a tip off...

Is this article trying to prop him up, or is it his political obit?

Oh, I think this would qualify as a ‘puff piece’ on Holder.

Unwittingly though, it connects him to Reno and Clinton. :)

“Oh, I think this would qualify as a ‘puff piece’ on Holder.”

Obits ARE puff pieces....

The headline is what got me thinking about the question-—and the fact that so few Dems are standing behind him. Feels to me like his NEXT position is being ironed out.
