He’s right. Because of their claims of major latter-day inscripturated revelation, Mormonism crosses a line. The difference between Mormonism and Christianity goes way beyond the differences that exist between various communions in Christianity, such as Orthodox, Catholic, Anglican, Reformed, etc.

I’d vote for a hari-krishna if he/she would veto all new spending and cut the budget across the board.

It is not, and has never been about Romney’s religion. That’s a distraction. It’s about Romney’s policies.

The preacher is 100% correct.

Yeah? Is the preacher correct about his calling Catholicism a cult?

Sure, I have big problems with some aspects of Mormonism, but I've never met a more patriotic and conservative "cult" than the Mormons.

Not talking about patriotic or conservative. Talking about religion. Your ignorance of Christianity and Mormonism is blatantly obvious.

I live in E. Texas and I’d say at least half of my Baptist aquaintances do not consider Catholics Christians.

(Note: Not my personal opinion....my wife is Catholic.)

He also says Catholics are a cult. He’s such a “good christian”.

Where do you get that?

I've lived in E. Texas longer than you and I have never heard anybody say that Catholics aren't Christians.

I don't know anybody who plays with snakes, either.

Surely you’ve heard the laundy list: papacy, prayers to Mary, salvation by works instead of faith alone, purgatory, calling priests “father,” veneration of saints.....come on, you know the list.

Give me a break. You don’t think most Baptists think the veneration of Mary is unchristian? That the papacy is unchristian? They’re all cool with the idea of purgatory?

I know more than one person who thinks the Catholic church is the “whore of babylon.” You’re telling me you don’t know people who believe that?

I've never heard "whore of Babylon"... but my friends and I don't sit around discussing the Catholic church...which, BTW, some of my best friends go to...or went to at one time.
