On Saturday at the ANSWER Coalition’s Anti-war Socialist protest and march, we asked this protester if she thought the protest was patriotic. She claimed she didn’t think they knew why they were there, in fact, she didn’t seem to know much at all.

I don’t know about Laz, but in my college days, if I would have bumped into her at a Dead show, I would have taken a run at that. She looks like she also would have really “kind” bud.

The whole thing is a sham. Here we have ANSWER people shoehorning onto a anti Capitalism rally. No one has a clue at these things. They just show up to be part of the scene.

I’m with Laz. So are a few other FReepers I know. LOL. I didn’t get to my first Dead show until ‘89, but got my wings and am still a fan. Rock n roll never leaves you if you are a rock n roller. I love my life of conservative debauchery and taking the piss out of scrawny lib wannabes.
For some time we have been warned that we were mortgaging our children’s and grandchildren’s future. Well the future has arrived and the kids don’t like the size of bill they received. Maybe they do have i-phones and cameras and computers given to them by their parents, but the parents added those costs to their bill. They are asking; “why did I come out of college with $100,00.00 debt when you ,( the author) were able to attend college at the University Of Wisconsin when the tuition was $50.00 a semester? And why were our jobs shipped out of the country in the name of globalization but in reality for the benefit of American corporation’s bottom line and higher compensation and perks for the corporation’s CEO.”
Maybe we should become introspective and give these young demonstrating adults a break. They know why they are protesting….We screwed them. They are just too inexperienced to present realistic solutions, so I will do it for them. What they want are good paying jobs just like my generation had in the ‘50s and ‘60s. These jobs exist except that we shipped them out of our country. To get them back:
A) Abolish Corporate income tax.
B) Reduce personal income tax to 15%.
C) Slash government spending by 20% this year and 20% next year.
D) All business regulation revert to those in existence in 1985.
E) Pass an equalization tax on imports which compensates for the increased government imposed costs to our manufacturer.
F) Control immigration.
