I’d probably want to leave under the assault of airsoft at that rate.

21st century spring gun

You bring up a good point. Just about all jurisdictions make illegal any device which would shoot somebody without human control.

If it ever shoots at a fireman or police officer, expect to go to jail for a long time.

“You have 10 seconds to comply.” When that comes after you put the weapon down, you know it will be a bad day.

IIRC, compressed air weapons were used int he First World War or the Crimean War. They can be deadly, and the one featured here can be blinding don’tchaknow. [’You’ll shoot yer eye out, kid.’]

A select-fire assault rifle can fire thousands of rounds per minute but only to the capacity of the magazine.

Over 1000 rpm is unusual. An M16 is in the 700-900 range. An Uzi is about 600.

The MAC-11 is exceptional at 1200 RPM, and is exceptionally fin to shoot, which I can personally attest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZnpokRP_bU

The Nazi MG42 belt fed was very fast at 1200-1500, too.

To get into the “thousands” you’re in Gatling gun territory.

Its awake and will keep the intruder occupied while fetch the closest pistol or shotgun...
But a good dog (Rhodesian Ridgeback?) would be better. And you wouldn’t need a gun, just a plastic sack and a mop...

"But...but...I can't understand it. Mechatron has never done that before. He's always so gentle around our kids. We've leave him home armed and alone all the time, and we've never had a problem like this before."

(After Mechatron plows thru the fence and goes after the next door neighbor's kid, and straffs little Johnnie with 2000 rounds...)

Great comments and pics. I’m not gonna spoil it with wet-blankets about legal liabilities.

After what happened to him in the woods of North Georgia, I think we can cut Mr Beatty a little slack. Ned doesn't want any repeat episodes, and neither does his family!

Detroit? Chicago?

Lewis & Clark used one to hunt and mystify the natives during their exploits, too.
