Man who wanted murder to look like mauling jailed

Malone, NY -- A New York man who had abused his ex-girlfriend and then plotted to kill her and make it look like she had been mauled by a bear was sentenced to prison for trying to hire someone to kill her in a staged car crash.

Clyde Gardner gave up on his first idea: Kill a bear, skin it and wear the pelt while using its claws to kill the woman as she took out her garbage. The plan included him wearing the bear's paws on his feet so no human footprints would be left behind.

When he abandoned the first plan, Gardner approached a friend and gave him a picture of the woman, her license plate number and $500 toward a $15,000 bounty to kill her in a car crash.

Gardner, an experienced demolition derby driver, advised the man how to make it look like an accident. He also told him that if the crash didn't kill the woman, he should take a piece of broken glass and slit her throat, Franklin County Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Crawford said.

The Bagh Nakh is an ancient weapon from the Indian sub-continent, purpose-built to make a murder look like a tiger mauling...

“An abusive and violent relationship”. Hmmm, may have been the woman beating up on Gardner.

If "wet work" is called for, don't hire it out. Do it yourself, but arrange for an alibi.

Wiki says it was inspired by the tiger's claws but no mention of it being a dacoits tool specifically designed to make it look like a tiger did it. As a kid, I used to read a lot about the great man-eaters and the men who hunted them (Jim Corbett, et al) and I very much doubt that, even centuries ago before modern forensic science, that one could fake a tiger killing. You could not, for instance, fake tiger tracks and cover up those of a human assassin to an expert tracker. Then there's this little matter of man-eaters' fang marks and outright eating of parts or all of their victims.

GREAAAT. Now every time there is a bear mauling, we have to take the bear in for interrogation.

>> WANT!

Once you “GET!”, plan to spend some quality time with a file and some little grinding wheels. It doesn’t look very sharp to me. :-)

I say we let Mike Nifong, Ronnie Earle, Spitzer and Eric Holder work the bear over a little to get him to talk. Show him who's boss.

Hubby’s a metal worker.

It’d be sharp...and slightly modified.

I’m pretty handy with a Dremel tool myself... but if Mrs. Tick brings me one of *these* to sharpen up, I’m gonna be sleeping with one eye open for awhile.

Ya wanna talk "sharp", I bought an original one of these a few years back and as soon as I got it out of the sheath, the *first* thing I did was poke the tip with my finger.

I never did that again.

What a psychopath! Whatever happened to just breaking up with someone and moving on? It would require a lot less work than this insanity, that’s for sure.
